Westchester Golden Rams who have been a dominant team all season long in the PSAC Conference at 10-1-4 underneath head coach Betty Ann Kempf Townsley were looking to continue their hot streak against Lock Heaven. Golden Rams are well coached, dynamic roster, experienced, talented players that want to win and prepared every game. They were facing a young team in Lock Heaven who was 4-8-2 coming into this matchup. They both played each other earlier in the season with Westchester beating them 4-0 so Lock Heaven was looking for some revenge but the Golden Rams are on a mission right now and focused on one goal. Lock Heaven’s key in this game was to keep it close which they did.

Lock Heaven did a fantastic job of keeping this game close throughout making it tough for Westchester. But with the Golden Rams experience , depth and great coaching they knew what adjustments to make in this game. Their defense is also top notch out of all these teams in the PSAC Conference and it showed against Lock Heaven. Kianna Barber and Katie Dougherty scored Westchester’s two goals during this game as Dougherty got her first career college goal which was cool to see and what a moment for sure. Barber scored her eighth goal of the season for Golden Rams. She brings toughness, speed, great at setting up her teammates and leadership.

With This 2-1 victory over Lock Heaven, the Westchester Golden Rams Women’s Soccer have clinched a number one seed as a team in the PSAC Conference and look to finish the regular season strong before playoff soccer. Coach Betty has them playing at a high level right now and can’t be stopped. After the game I had the opportunity to interview Kianna Barber and Katie Dougherty talking about the game, clinching number one seed, scoring their goals and head coach Betty.
