Somebody please explain this to me slowly… preferably with crayons.

The NFL Pro Bowl, once marketed as a gathering of the best of the best, has officially jumped the shark, packed its bags, and moved into a flag-football popularity contest sponsored by jersey sales and social media engagement.

Because somehow — and I still don’t know how — Shedeur Sanders is being talked about as a Pro Bowl fill-in while actual NFL quarterbacks who have played, started, won games, and, you know… thrown passes on Sundays are sitting at home watching this nonsense on their couch.

I’m waving the biggest red flag possible 🚩, because if the Pro Bowl is now inviting third-string quarterbacks who haven’t proven anything at the NFL level, then let’s just stop pretending this thing means anything.

THE PRO BOWL USED TO MEAN SOMETHING

Keyword: USED TO.

It was supposed to be:

  • The best players
  • The best seasons
  • The best production

Not:

  • “Who sold the most jerseys”
  • “Whose last name trends better”
  • “Whose dad is a Hall of Famer”

And before anyone starts crying — yes, Deion Sanders is one of the greatest to ever do it. No debate. Prime Time was HIM.

But this is the NFL, not a family reunion.

LET’S TALK ABOUT THE ELEPHANT IN THE HUDDLE

Shedeur Sanders — talented? Sure.
Marketable? Absolutely.
Pro Bowl worthy right now? Stop it. Seriously. Stop.

This isn’t college. This isn’t hype season. This isn’t the TikTok Combine.

This is the NFL, where quarterbacks actually:

  • Start games
  • Finish games
  • Win games
  • Put up real numbers against grown men trying to take their heads off

Meanwhile, there are starting and backup quarterbacks across the league who:

  • Had better passer ratings
  • Threw more touchdowns
  • Protected the football
  • Actually took snaps this season

And they didn’t get the call.

JUST A FEW GUYS THE NFL “FORGOT” ABOUT

Without even digging deep, we’re talking about real NFL quarterbacks — starters and backups — who outplayed, out-worked, and out-earned a Pro Bowl nod:

  • Starters who kept broken teams competitive
  • Backup QBs who stepped in and won meaningful games
  • Guys who didn’t have a hype machine… just production

But nope — let’s skip all that and invite a third-string QB who hasn’t proven a thing yet, because his jersey cracked the top 10.

Last I checked, Fanatics doesn’t hand out Lombardis.

AND DON’T GET ME STARTED ON THE GAME ITSELF!

The Pro Bowl is now:

  • Flag football
  • No contact
  • No hitting
  • No pride

They don’t even fake tackles anymore. Just grab a flag and jog back to the huddle like it’s recess.

So now we’re combining:

  1. A watered-down game
  2. Zero physicality
  3. And popularity-based rosters

Congratulations NFL — you’ve created the All-Star Game equivalent of a group chat poll.

FROM THE BOOTH… TO THE PRO BOWL?

Let’s not gloss over this part either.

We’re talking about a guy who:

  • Was rapping in a booth on draft night
  • Didn’t hear his name called
  • Hasn’t established himself in the league

And somehow that journey ends with a Pro Bowl invite?

That’s not a football story — that’s a marketing campaign.

THIS ISN’T HATE — IT’S STANDARDS

This isn’t about Shedeur Sanders personally.

This is about standards.

You want to make the Pro Bowl:

  • A flag football showcase? Fine.
  • A skills competition? Cool.
  • A celebrity event? Own it.

But don’t sell it as “the best in the NFL” when the resumes don’t match the invite list.

Because when actual NFL quarterbacks with better numbers are ignored, and third-string hype names get the call, fans aren’t stupid — we see it.

FINAL WHISTLE

The Pro Bowl isn’t broken.

It’s embarrassed.

And until the NFL decides whether this is about football or followers, I’ll keep waving the red flag 🚩 and calling it exactly what it is:

A joke… with jerseys.

My name is Errol Marks and I’d like to tell you why I believe I can be a major asset to your station. I’m from a small town in Long Island, NY and from a very young age I’ve always had a love for sports talk radio. Growing up, I would listen religiously to shows like Mike and the Mad Dog, Mike and Mike, and Imus in the Morning and studied what made those shows so great. I’ve made it my goal to be as influential as the hosts I grew up listening to, and with my knowledge of all major sports, enthusiastic and fearless personality, and my preparation skills, I know I can get to that level. This is an art and a medium that I’m passionate about and one that I feel can never be replaced.

What makes my story so unique goes beyond my 10+ years of experience in sports media. In addition to over ten years of creating and hosting sports talk radio shows, I created the World Wide Sports Radio Network - one of the first ever digital sports radio networks - in 2012. Since the network began, we have had some of the best content in digital sports media. We have six quality shows on our network covering all sports and sports betting. I’m currently hosting New York’s Sports Loud Mouth, and you can find that show and the rest of our great shows at https://worldwidesportsradio.com/.

Our network’s content and listenership has grown significantly year to year and, in the past year, we’ve achieved 3.6 million minutes listened on our audio stream, over 29k followers on tik tok, 500k viewed on YouTube, 1.7 million downloads on Apple Podcasts, and 906,917 plays on Spotify. While we are enjoying a continued increase in growth, I feel that we can take this to a new level and a new audience with your help.

My goal since the day I started is to become the greatest and most recognizable sports radio show host in the country. I can guarantee that nobody in this industry currently has my passion, personality or ability to shape the future of sports broadcasting and entertainment like I do. If given the opportunity, I hope to further share my story and many talents with you and your station.
