Five games into the season.
Not “give him a month.”
Not “he’s still stretching it out.”
Not “spring training rust.”
No.
Trevor Bauer pulled up to Penn Medicine Park like he had a reservation… and the reservation was for dominance, party of one.
On the road.
In somebody else’s stadium.
Against grown men who get paid to hit baseballs.
And he said:
“Respectfully… no.”
Final score: 13-0.
But emotionally? It was like 47-0.
The Long Island Ducks didn’t just beat the Lancaster Stormers… they escorted them out of their own house and changed the Wi-Fi password.
Let’s revisit the stat line, because it deserves dramatic music:
- 7 innings
- 0 hits
- 0 runs
- 1 walk
- 7 strikeouts
That’s not a pitching line.
That’s a “do not disturb” sign.
Hitters walking back to the dugout like:
“Yeah… I’m gonna need a minute. And maybe a therapist.”
Now here’s where it gets spicy…
After the game, Bauer hops on social media and says:
“Trevor Bauer sucks so much. He’s so washed.”
Sir.
WHO are you talking to?
Oh, I know exactly who:
- The “he’s finished” podcast panel
- The “I saw one clip and made a life decision” crowd
- The professional hater association
- And my personal favorite — the “I don’t watch but I comment” Hall of Fame voters
That wasn’t a quote.
That was a group chat message sent to the entire internet.
And the funniest part?
I was there his first start.
Man told me straight up:
“I could throw a no-hitter, almost pitch perfect, and MLB still won’t call.”
And instead of arguing…
he went out and said:
“Let me run that experiment real quick.”
Listen, you don’t have to like him.
You don’t have to root for him.
You don’t even have to follow him.
But if you love baseball and you’re NOT entertained right now?
Check your pulse.
Because every 5th day is turning into:
“Welcome back to ‘Guess What Pitch You’re Not Hitting Today.’”
And can we talk about the arsenal?
This man has TEN pitches.
Ten.
At this point, hitters aren’t preparing — they’re studying like it’s finals week:
- “Alright guys, today we’re covering Chapters 1 through 10… which is all of them.”
- “Will this be on the test?”
- “YES. ALL OF IT.”
But wait — there’s more!
People say:
“He shows too much emotion.”
Oh I’m sorry… I thought this was sports?
We love:
- Bat flips
- Trash talk
- Walk-offs with celebrations
But a pitcher gets fired up and suddenly it’s:
“Whoa… relax buddy.”
No.
You relax. Let the man cook.
And off the field?
- Signing autographs like he’s running for mayor
- Showing love to fans
- Talking to people like an actual human being
- Respecting media even when they come in spicy
But yeah… “washed.”
Right.
And I’m a retired astronaut.
Here’s the truth nobody wants to say out loud:
This version of Bauer?
This isn’t a guy “trying to get back.”
This is a guy saying:
“Y’all remember who I am, right?”
Will he get another shot in the majors?
That’s up to baseball.
But if we’re being real…
Not giving a dominant, entertaining, headline-generating pitcher a chance?
That’s like having front-row tickets and choosing to watch from the parking lot.
And let me say this clearly:
Don’t be surprised if this happens again.
Yeah, I said it.
Another no-hitter? Possible.
A perfect game? Now we’re getting irresponsible… but also… I’m not ruling it out
Because right now?
Every time he steps on the mound, it feels like:
- Something ridiculous is about to happen
- Somebody’s batting average is about to disappear
- And Twitter is about to be VERY loud
So call him what you want.
Say what you want.
Tweet what you want.
Just understand…
If THIS is “washed”…
Then baseball might need to start putting warning labels on clean performances.
And when the next masterpiece happens?
Don’t act surprised.
Just make sure you’re in the building.
Because clearly…

I’m from a small town in Long Island, NY and from a very young age I’ve always had a love for sports talk radio. Growing up, I would listen religiously to shows like Mike and the Mad Dog, Mike and Mike, and Imus in the Morning and studied what made those shows so great. I’ve made it my goal to be as influential as the hosts I grew up listening to, and with my knowledge of all major sports, enthusiastic and fearless personality, and my preparation skills, I know I can get to that level. This is an art and a medium that I’m passionate about and one that I feel can never be replaced.
What makes my story so unique goes beyond my 10+ years of experience in sports media. In addition to over ten years of creating and hosting sports talk radio shows, I created the World Wide Sports Radio Network - one of the first ever digital sports radio networks - in 2012. Since the network began, we have had some of the best content in digital sports media. We have six quality shows on our network covering all sports and sports betting. While we are enjoying a continued increase in growth, I feel that we can take this to a new level and a new audience with your help.
