7/4/26 After losing the first 2 games of the Thunders’ home and home series against the Aberdeen Ironbirds in Aberdeen, they return home to face them at Trenton Thunder ballpark on July 4th. Luc Rising was the starting pitcher for the Thunder, going 4 innings, allowing 3 runs while striking out 5. Unfortunately for Trenton this one took a wrong turn in the 8th inning when Aberdeen scored 4 runs to extend their lead to 10-3 and that would be the final score of this one. On the offensive side for the Thunder, Brett Patten and Ny’Zaiah Thompson each recorded 2 hits. Other than that, Trenton was not able to get anything going offensively. This game was called in the 8th inning when rain started to pour. Trenton fell to a record of 18-10 on the season with one game remaining in the 1st half of the 2026 season.

7/5/26 The final game in the first half of the season arrived for the Thunder as many of their players are getting ready to head to the MLB Draft in about a week or so. Thomas Ellisen took the ball for Trenton and didn’t pitch how he wanted to. He struggled in his 2 innings of work allowing 3 runs on 2 hits while walking 4 batters as well. The bullpen was dominant for Trenton, star performances from Elijah Foster, Billy Morris and Jacob Smoot, who earned the save. The Thunder had the offense going starting from the 4th inning on, when Jake Koonin hit his 3rd home run of the season to get the Thunder on the board. They scored 3 runs in the 3rd followed by 3 in the 4th. Cade Climie provided the insurance runs in the bottom of the 5th inning, hitting a 3 run RBI triple putting the Thunder up 6-3. They would go on to win their final game in the first half of the season by a final score of 8-5. They finished the first half with a record of 19-10.

The second half of the 2026 season for the Thunder begins on Wednesday night, when they face off against the Mahoning Valley Scrappers at Trenton Thunder ballpark. The roster is going to be filled with new faces, but Trenton will try to retain the same success that they had in the first half.
