6/12/26 After the Thunder won their road series in West Virginia, they came back home and started a new home series against the State College Spikes. They exploded offensively scoring 16 runs, a season high in runs scored for them. The whole lineup combined had 15 hits with 16 runs scored in total. Jake Koonin, Carsten Sabathia, Mark Gialluisi, Brett Patten and Grant Gray all had 2 RBI’s each on a combined 8 hits and 8 runs scored. Elijah Foster, the starting pitcher for Trenton struggled but fought his way through 4 innings pitched. Cole Fehrman and Kyle Calzadiaz were in lockdown mode out of the bullpen, striking out 5 batters and allowing 0 runs. Nate Bennett finished off the win for Trenton in the 9th, striking out 3 batters. The Thunder won 16-9, starting off the weekend with a huge offensive explosion.

6/13/26 The second game of this series was a more grind out, stressful game for Trenton. They ended up winning on a tiebreaker in the 10th inning, all thanks to Jake Koonin getting the walk off single to win it, 7-6. After the game, Koonin said it felt “Awesome” to come through for the team and get the win. David Hinojosa started for the Thunder in this game going only 2 innings but did not allow any runs. Andrew Berg and Luc Rising were the stars out of the bullpen, giving the Thunder a much needed boost and giving the offense a chance to win the game. Ny’zaiah Thompson provided a spark offensively early on, hitting a 2 run RBI single in the bottom of the 3rd inning. A complete team effort led the way as the Thunder improved to 9-1 on the season and won their 3nd consecutive home series.

6/14/26 Trenton looked for the series sweep against the Spikes. Unfortunately, they could not complete the sweep, losing by a final score of 7-4. Holden Hering was the starting pitcher for Trenton. He struggled, allowing only 2 hits but 6 runs on 4 earned runs while also walking 7 batters. The offense started to hit early for the Thunder but after they scored 2 runs in the first inning, it was hard for them to get anything else going on the offensive side. Still a successful series for Trenton, winning 2/3 against the Spikes. They are now 9-2 going into Tuesday night’s series opener against Mexico in Trenton.
