Three-Peat Loading… UConn Sends Illinois Home, Michigan Survives Arizona — And Dan Hurley Is Coaching Like He Drank Five Energy Drinks And Personally Yelled At The Moon
March Madness gave us two completely different Final Four games tonight:
One was a bar fight in basketball shorts.
The other was a chess match played by guys sweating through their jerseys.
And now we get UConn vs Michigan for the national championship — which feels like destiny… or at least something Dan Hurley has been screaming into existence for three straight years.
UConn vs Illinois — Defense, Drama, and Hurley Arguing With Oxygen
The UConn Huskies took down the Illinois Fighting Illini 71–62 in a game that had the offensive rhythm of dial-up internet.
This game featured:
- Missed shots
- Bodies flying
- Defense everywhere
- And Dan Hurley coaching like someone unplugged his Wi-Fi
UConn controlled the paint all night, turned rebounds into gold, and slowly squeezed the life out of Illinois like a basketball boa constrictor.
Illinois kept trying to hang around.
They cut the lead.
They made it uncomfortable.
They made UConn fans nervous.
Then Hurley started yelling again… and suddenly UConn looked calm.
Coincidence?
I don’t think so.
Late in the game, UConn hit the dagger three and Illinois looked like:
- a team that ran out of gas
- ran out of shots
- and possibly ran out of emotional energy listening to Hurley scream
UConn closed it out like they’ve done for three straight tournaments:
Cold.
Calm.
And Hurley vibrating like a malfunctioning blender.
Three straight championship appearances.
That’s not a run.
That’s a March Madness subscription plan.
Michigan vs Arizona — This Was A Basketball Game… And Also A Street Fight
The Michigan Wolverines survived the Arizona Wildcats in a game that looked like everyone involved just ran a marathon… uphill… carrying refrigerators.
This game had:
- Physical defense
- Loose balls
- Missed jumpers
- Players diving everywhere
- Coaches aging in real time
Michigan didn’t dominate.
They outlasted.
Arizona tried to speed it up.
Michigan slowed it down.
Arizona attacked.
Michigan responded.
This was less “Final Four” and more “last team still breathing wins.”
By the end, Michigan made the clutch plays and Arizona looked like they just fought a bear.
Michigan walks into the title game looking tough, confident, and possibly in need of an ice bath the size of Lake Michigan.
National Championship: UConn vs Michigan
This matchup is incredible.
Michigan wants:
- slow tempo
- physical play
- halfcourt game
- ugly basketball
UConn wants:
- movement
- rebounds
- defense
- Hurley yelling at clouds
If Michigan controls pace, they’ve got a real shot.
If UConn gets comfortable… it’s curtains.
Because UConn plays like:
- they’ve been here before
- they expect to win
- and Hurley threatened to hide the team bus if they lose
If Dan Hurley Wins Again… This Is Getting Ridiculous
Dan Hurley is on a run that’s starting to look less like coaching… and more like a basketball heist movie.
Three straight championship games.
Different players.
Same results.
Same screaming.
If he wins again:
We’re talking:
- All-time March Madness coach
- Modern dynasty
- Statue outside the arena
- Referees wearing earplugs
Hurley coaches like:
- every possession owes him money
- every foul call is a personal betrayal
- he’s trying to win AND start a thunderstorm
And somehow… it works.
Michigan will defend.
Michigan will fight.
Michigan will make this game ugly.
But UConn looks like March Madness Thanos right now.
And Dan Hurley?
He’s collecting championships like infinity stones.
If UConn wins…

I’m from a small town in Long Island, NY and from a very young age I’ve always had a love for sports talk radio. Growing up, I would listen religiously to shows like Mike and the Mad Dog, Mike and Mike, and Imus in the Morning and studied what made those shows so great. What makes my story so unique goes beyond my 10+ years of experience in sports media. In addition to over ten years of creating and hosting sports talk radio shows, I created the World Wide Sports Radio Network - one of the first ever digital sports radio networks - in 2012. Since the network began, we have had some of the best content in digital sports media. We have six quality shows on our network covering all sports and sports betting. While we are enjoying a continued increase in growth, I feel that we can take this to a new level and a new audience with your help.
My goal since the day I started is to become the greatest and most recognizable sports radio show host in the country.
