The New York Knicks didn’t beat the Cleveland Cavaliers. Nah. That word don’t even fit anymore. Beat is what happens in January on a random Tuesday when half the team got the flu and somebody forgot to rotate on defense.
This? This was basketball terrorism.
130-93.
A sweep.
Eastern Conference Finals over.
Pack it up. Cancel the parade route in Cleveland. Somebody check on Kenny Atkinson because bro looked like he just watched his car get repossessed live on TNT.
And let me say this loud enough so the people hanging out the windows in Manhattan can hear me:
THE NEW YORK KNICKS JUST WON THE EASTERN CONFERENCE AND HALF THE CITY CURRENTLY NEEDS A CARDIOLOGIST.
People crying.
People screaming.
People hugging random strangers outside bodegas like the apocalypse got canceled.
Somewhere in New York there’s a grown man named Vinny climbing a light pole in a Brunson jersey yelling “WE BACK!” while his wife threatening divorce over FaceTime.
This ain’t the same old Knicks.
This ain’t the yearly “feel-good story” Knicks.
This ain’t “aww look at them trying hard” Knicks.
NO.
This team is beating teams so badly the fourth quarter looks like preseason basketball.
The Knicks have now won ELEVEN straight playoff games. ELEVEN. The last team to go on a run like this was the 2017 Golden State Warriors squad — aka the basketball Infinity Gauntlet.
That Warriors team had Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and enough talent to make the rest of the league file complaints with HR.
And somehow these Knicks are putting together a run that got the NBA looking nervous again.
Every game follows the same script now:
First quarter?
“Okay this might be competitive.”
Second quarter?
The Knicks start throwing haymakers.
Third quarter?
The opposing fanbase starts googling mock drafts.
Fourth quarter?
Spike Lee dancing like somebody forgave all his parking tickets.
Jalen Brunson has officially become the king of New York. Forget Statue of Liberty. Put Brunson in the harbor holding a basketball and a pair of Timbs.

This man was unanimously voted Eastern Conference Finals MVP and honestly Cleveland should’ve voted for him too after he spent four games turning their defense into warm-up cones.
Brunson plays basketball like somebody insulted his entire family before tipoff. Calm face. No panic. Just straight buckets and emotional damage.
Then you got Karl-Anthony Towns out there rebounding like he’s trying to win custody of the basketball. OG Anunoby guarding people like a maximum-security prison warden. Mikal Bridges fixing every problem on the floor like basketball duct tape.
And LANDRY SHAMET?!
This man turned into prime Klay Thompson outta nowhere. Cleveland left him open for three seconds and suddenly this dude shooting like NBA Jam just announced “HE’S ON FIRE!”
Meanwhile Donovan Mitchell looked like a man trying to stop a flood with paper towels. He had 31 points and it still felt like he was fighting a forest fire using a spray bottle.
And Knicks fans completely took over Cleveland.
Spike Lee there.
Tracy Morgan there.
Timothée Chalamet there looking like he accidentally wandered into the loudest family cookout on earth.
Kylie Jenner probably sitting there wondering why New Yorkers scream after every made free throw like somebody won the lottery.
The “KNICKS IN FOUR!” chants started with almost eight minutes left. EIGHT.
That ain’t confidence anymore. That’s bullying.
And now the scary part for the NBA begins.
Whether it’s the Oklahoma City Thunder or the San Antonio Spurs coming out the West, both teams got their work cut out for them because this ain’t the same Knicks everybody used to joke about.
This Knicks team is DIFFERENT.
They defend like rent due tomorrow.
They rebound like somebody stole their wallet.
They run the floor like the MTA just shut down for the night.
And the worst part?
They BELIEVE they’re winning the championship.
That’s dangerous.
You can feel the energy around New York changing in real time. Old Knicks fans bringing up 1973 like it happened last week. Barbershops arguing about whether Brunson already passed half the franchise legends. People dusting off old Patrick Ewing jerseys like sacred artifacts.

And give Mike Brown his flowers too.
First season coaching this team and he got the Knicks looking like basketball Navy SEALs. Everybody clowned the Knicks for moving on from Tom Thibodeau after last year.
Now Mike Brown got New York in the Finals and Thibs somewhere staring angrily at a defensive rotation chart in complete silence.
The craziest thing about this run is how disrespectfully dominant it’s been.
These aren’t close games.
The Knicks aren’t surviving.
They’re leaving crime scenes.
Winning playoff games by 30.
Winning by 40.
Winning by 50.
At this point opposing teams should get grief counselors included with the scouting report.
And for the first time in a LONG time, the NBA gotta admit something nobody wanted to say out loud:
The New York Knicks aren’t a joke anymore.
They’re the monster under the bed now.

My name is Errol Marks and I’d like to tell you why I believe I can be a major asset to your station. I’m from a small town in Long Island, NY and from a very young age I’ve always had a love for sports talk radio. Growing up, I would listen religiously to shows like Mike and the Mad Dog, Mike and Mike, and Imus in the Morning and studied what made those shows so great. I’ve made it my goal to be as influential as the hosts I grew up listening to, and with my knowledge of all major sports, enthusiastic and fearless personality, and my preparation skills, I know I can get to that level. This is an art and a medium that I’m passionate about and one that I feel can never be replaced.
What makes my story so unique goes beyond my 10+ years of experience in sports media. In addition to over ten years of creating and hosting sports talk radio shows, I created the World Wide Sports Radio Network - one of the first ever digital sports radio networks - in 2012. Since the network began, we have had some of the best content in digital sports media. We have six quality shows on our network covering all sports and sports betting. I’m currently hosting New York’s Sports Loud Mouth, and you can find that show and the rest of our great shows at https://worldwidesportsradio.com/.
Our network’s content and listenership has grown significantly year to year and, in the past year, we’ve achieved 3.6 million minutes listened on our audio stream, over 29k followers on tik tok, 500k viewed on YouTube, 1.7 million downloads on Apple Podcasts, and 906,917 plays on Spotify. While we are enjoying a continued increase in growth, I feel that we can take this to a new level and a new audience with your help.
My goal since the day I started is to become the greatest and most recognizable sports radio show host in the country. I can guarantee that nobody in this industry currently has my passion, personality or ability to shape the future of sports broadcasting and entertainment like I do. If given the opportunity, I hope to further share my story and many talents with you and your station.
