Thanks to the Los Angeles Dodgers—aka Costco Wholesale Baseball Club—deferred money has officially jumped from a smart financial tool to a weapon of mass CBA destruction.
We’re talking contracts that end in 2064, when half the league’s owners will be cryogenically frozen, and the players will be cashing checks while using walkers shaped like baseball bats.
And now?
The owners are panicking like they just walked in on Rob Manfred eating the luxury tax handbook.
So now we turn to Hal Steinbrenner—
a man who wakes up every morning, looks at the Yankees payroll, and faints into a pillow shaped like a dollar sign.
Suddenly Hal is out here saying things like:
“Spending doesn’t guarantee championships.”
Excuse me?
THE NEW YORK YANKEES owner said that?
Next thing you know, he’ll be telling us strikeouts don’t matter and hot dogs are vegan.
But here’s the twist:
Hal’s new “We should stop spending so much!” philosophy has accidentally sparked something dangerous in MLB.
Owners across the league heard Hal’s comment and reacted like:
“Wait… the Yankees don’t want to spend?
WE HAVE A CHANCE. QUICK—PASS THE SALARY CAP PAPERWORK!”

And just like that, the league sees its opening.
The Dodgers broke the system with their Time Traveler Payment Plan, and now Hal is doing financial stand-up comedy about payroll responsibility.
MLB owners are foaming at the mouth like they just got told the words “salary cap” cure male pattern baldness.
Imagine this:
MLB adopts a salary cap like the NFL.
Suddenly:
- The Rays can’t use their “We’re broke!” coupon anymore.
- The Mets can’t drop $368 billion on a relief pitcher with a 5.78 ERA.
- The Dodgers can’t pay players with time-delay checks like they’re sending contracts into the future with Marty McFly.
The Yankees would go from financial Goliath to…
a well-behaved suburban home with a budget spreadsheet on the fridge.
The whole league becomes “fair.”
Which, in baseball terms, means it becomes boring.
And the MLBPA?
They’ll burn the proposal so fast it’ll look like the Mets’ playoff hopes in August.

Make no mistake:
The owners are gearing up like they’re entering WrestleMania.
And the players?
They’re about to suplex any salary cap attempt straight into the Hudson River.
All because the Dodgers turned the luxury tax into a clearance rack.
MLB is officially one Hal Steinbrenner interview away from a lockout, a mutiny, and Rob Manfred issuing statements from a bunker under MLB HQ.
If baseball owners actually push for a salary cap, remember this moment.
Remember the Dodgers.
Remember Hal’s budget sermon.
Remember that MLB—America’s pastime—was brought to the brink of financial war because one team decided money works best when paid… 40 years later.
Honestly?
You can’t make this stuff up.
But thank God I can.

My name is Errol Marks and I’d like to tell you why I believe I can be a major asset to your station. I’m from a small town in Long Island, NY and from a very young age I’ve always had a love for sports talk radio. Growing up, I would listen religiously to shows like Mike and the Mad Dog, Mike and Mike, and Imus in the Morning and studied what made those shows so great. I’ve made it my goal to be as influential as the hosts I grew up listening to, and with my knowledge of all major sports, enthusiastic and fearless personality, and my preparation skills, I know I can get to that level. This is an art and a medium that I’m passionate about and one that I feel can never be replaced.
What makes my story so unique goes beyond my 10+ years of experience in sports media. In addition to over ten years of creating and hosting sports talk radio shows, I created the World Wide Sports Radio Network - one of the first ever digital sports radio networks - in 2012. Since the network began, we have had some of the best content in digital sports media. We have six quality shows on our network covering all sports and sports betting. I’m currently hosting New York’s Sports Loud Mouth, and you can find that show and the rest of our great shows at https://worldwidesportsradio.com/.
Our network’s content and listenership has grown significantly year to year and, in the past year, we’ve achieved 3.6 million minutes listened on our audio stream, over 29k followers on tik tok, 500k viewed on YouTube, 1.7 million downloads on Apple Podcasts, and 906,917 plays on Spotify. While we are enjoying a continued increase in growth, I feel that we can take this to a new level and a new audience with your help.
My goal since the day I started is to become the greatest and most recognizable sports radio show host in the country. I can guarantee that nobody in this industry currently has my passion, personality or ability to shape the future of sports broadcasting and entertainment like I do. If given the opportunity, I hope to further share my story and many talents with you and your station.
