Let me say this loud for the people in the cheap seats: the Yankees’ rotation right now isn’t just good—it’s got hitters questioning their career choices.
We’re 5 games into the season, the Yankees are 4–1, and plot twist… it’s NOT the Bronx Bombers doing the damage. I know, I know—somewhere a guy in a Derek Jeter jersey just dropped his chicken bucket in disbelief. But nope, this ain’t about 12-run games and back-to-back-to-back home runs.
This is about pitching. Filthy, disrespectful, “go sit down and think about what you just swung at” pitching.
And from this day forward, let’s give this staff a name: The Bronx Burners. 🔥
Because once you step in the box… you’re about to get roasted.
Welcome to the Rotation… Pick Your Poison
Let’s just run through this like it’s a horror movie lineup:
- Max Fried – Two starts. ZERO runs. Not “low ERA”… ZERO. Hitters are basically just out there getting cardio.
- Gerrit Cole – Not even back yet. Yeah… the CY Young ace is still loading.
- Carlos Rodón – Hasn’t even pitched yet because of a hamstring issue… which somehow makes this even scarier. This man hasn’t thrown a pitch and the Bronx Burners are still dominating.
- Clarke Schmidt – Quietly becoming that guy you don’t want to face on a random Tuesday.
- Schlittler / Warren / Gil / Weathers – At this point, I don’t even know who’s coming at you next… and that’s the problem.
And here’s the scary part: they’re not even at full strength.

Schlittler… The Next Andy Pettitte??
Now let’s talk Schlittler.
I’m not saying it… but I’m also kinda saying it…
This dude is starting to give off young Andy Pettitte vibes.
Calm on the mound. No panic. Just goes out there like, “Yeah, I’m gonna give you 6–7 innings and ruin your night real quick.” No extra, no nonsense—just straight-up winning baseball.
If he keeps developing like this, the Yankees didn’t just find another arm…
They might’ve found that guy.
Depth So Deep It’s Actually Rude
Most teams have a rotation.
The Yankees have a pitching warehouse.
You’ve got guys like Luis Gil chilling in the minors—not because he can’t pitch, but because there’s literally no room. That’s like having a Ferrari parked outside because your garage is already full of Lamborghinis.
Then you’ve got reinforcements coming back:
- Gerrit Cole (the big boss himself)
- Carlos Rodón (once the hamstring stops acting like it’s on vacation)
- Other arms working their way back that would start on 90% of teams
When Cole returns, it’s like adding the final Infinity Stone. When Rodón joins The Bronx Burners? Now you’re just being disrespectful.

Unhittable Is an Understatement
Right now, this staff looks like:
- Fastballs that jump
- Sliders that disappear
- Changeups that should come with a warning label
Hitters aren’t just getting out… they’re getting confused.
You ever see a guy walk back to the dugout and look at the bat like it betrayed him? That’s what’s happening out there.
That’s what happens when you face The Bronx Burners.
Let’s Talk Best Rotation in Baseball
Alright, let’s be real for a second.
Are there other elite rotations? Of course.
But here’s the difference:
Most top rotations = 3–4 elite arms
The Yankees = “Oh, you got through the first 3? Cool… here comes another one from The Bronx Burners.”
It’s not just talent—it’s depth + flexibility + fresh arms + chaos.
You don’t get a break in a series. There is no “we’ll get them in Game 4.”
Game 4 is just another nightmare.
The Only Problem… Because Of Course There’s One
Now let’s address the elephant in the Bronx:
Runners. In. Scoring. Position.
Because if the Yankees figure that out?
Oh boy.
If this team starts actually cashing in runs consistently while The Bronx Burners are dealing like this…
Start printing playoff tickets early.
Why This Could Be the Year for #28
Here’s the formula:
- Elite, deep rotation (The Bronx Burners) ✅
- Ace returning soon (Cole) ✅
- Another frontline arm coming back (Rodón) ✅
- Early dominance ✅
- Lineup that should hit eventually ✅
If the bats wake up even a little…
You’re not just looking at a playoff team.
You’re looking at a team nobody wants to face in October.
Because in the playoffs, pitching doesn’t just matter—it decides everything.
And right now?
Nobody wants to see The Bronx Burners in a short series.
The Bronx Bombers built the legacy.
But this year?
It might be The Bronx Burners that carry it.
They’re not just winning games… they’re melting lineups and giving hitters existential crises.
And if this keeps up—and the Yankees figure out how to bring guys home—
Don’t laugh when people start saying it:
“Why not 28?”
Because with this pitching staff?
That question isn’t crazy anymore.

My name is Errol Marks and I’d like to tell you why I believe I can be a major asset to your station. I’m from a small town in Long Island, NY and from a very young age I’ve always had a love for sports talk radio. Growing up, I would listen religiously to shows like Mike and the Mad Dog, Mike and Mike, and Imus in the Morning and studied what made those shows so great. I’ve made it my goal to be as influential as the hosts I grew up listening to, and with my knowledge of all major sports, enthusiastic and fearless personality, and my preparation skills, I know I can get to that level. This is an art and a medium that I’m passionate about and one that I feel can never be replaced.
What makes my story so unique goes beyond my 10+ years of experience in sports media. In addition to over ten years of creating and hosting sports talk radio shows, I created the World Wide Sports Radio Network - one of the first ever digital sports radio networks - in 2012. Since the network began, we have had some of the best content in digital sports media. We have six quality shows on our network covering all sports and sports betting. I’m currently hosting New York’s Sports Loud Mouth, and you can find that show and the rest of our great shows at https://worldwidesportsradio.com/.
Our network’s content and listenership has grown significantly year to year and, in the past year, we’ve achieved 3.6 million minutes listened on our audio stream, over 29k followers on tik tok, 500k viewed on YouTube, 1.7 million downloads on Apple Podcasts, and 906,917 plays on Spotify. While we are enjoying a continued increase in growth, I feel that we can take this to a new level and a new audience with your help.
My goal since the day I started is to become the greatest and most recognizable sports radio show host in the country. I can guarantee that nobody in this industry currently has my passion, personality or ability to shape the future of sports broadcasting and entertainment like I do. If given the opportunity, I hope to further share my story and many talents with you and your station.
