Bernie Kosar who is an NFL legend, Superbowl Champion and former Quarterback receives fantastic news by getting a lifesaving liver transplant. The donar’s name was Bryce Dunlap who gave his liver to Kosar as Bernie is well respected in all of sports and what he does off the field helping out the community. Hearing this news about Kosar that he ended up in the hospital was a shocker, not knowing what will happen but you have to trust God that great work things will happen for a reason. Having the Dunlap family being able to help Kosar is such an inspiration to see and coming together for a good cause. Just after one week since getting his liver transplant, Kosar is now officially released from the hospital.

The University Hospital did a fantastic job of keeping everything organized, up to date and was on top of everything when it came to Bernie Kosar’s health situation. Once everyone found out that Bryce Dunlap’s agreed to be the donar, they acted quickly and got the surgery done. Kosar looks great right now as we speak, doing a lot of segments since his surgery, looking forward to getting back out there to support the Cleveland Browns and doing amazing work in their community for sure. This was awesome to see how it came together quickly, working as a team, focusing on one goal and not keeping Kosar’s family worried. Who Is Bernie Kosar

Bernie Kosar is a former American professional football quarterback, best known for his time with the Cleveland Browns. He led the Miami Hurricanes to a national championship in 1983 before an NFL career with the Browns, Dallas Cowboys, and Miami Dolphins. Kosar won a Super Bowl ring with the Cowboys in 1993. He recently received a successful liver transplant in November 2025, after being diagnosed with liver disease and Parkinson’s.

College career: He played for the University of Miami, leading them to their first national championship in 1983. He also holds the school record for career passing completion percentage.

NFL career:

Cleveland Browns (1985-1993): He was drafted by the Browns in the 1985 NFL supplemental draft and is one of the most popular players in franchise history. He led the team to three AFC championship games.
