If you missed Championship Sunday, don’t worry — no one actually played clean football anyway.

What we witnessed was:

  • Quarterbacks auditioning for Survivor
  • Defenses committing legal acts of violence
  • One-handed catches that laughed at biology
  • And a rookie QB throwing a football like he was in a Marvel movie

Let’s begin where dignity went to die.

AFC SEMIFINAL: PATRIOTS 28, TEXANS 16

“The ‘We’re Gonna Win… Somehow’ Bowl”

This game wasn’t football.
This was two teams aggressively trying to lose while the clock begged for mercy.

The Patriots didn’t win because they were good.
They won because they were slightly less awful, which in playoff football apparently counts as excellence.

Coming in, we were told this was a showdown of elite young quarterbacks.

What we got was two guys playing hot potato with the football.

Drake Maye (Patriots):

  • 16/27
  • 179 yards
  • 3 TD
  • 1 INTs
  • 4 fumbles, 2 lost
  • Facial expression of a guy who just realized his Uber canceled

Maye would make a great throw…
Then immediately follow it with something so reckless you’d think he was sponsored by chaos.

He stared down receivers like, “Yeah I’m throwing it here. Please don’t pick it.”
Texans defense: “Thank you for your honesty.”

C.J. Stroud (Texans):

  • 20/47
  • 212 yards
  • 1 TD
  • 4 INTs
  • Sacked 3 times
  • Spirit temporarily left his body in the 3rd quarter

Stroud wasn’t bad.
He was just being haunted.

Every time he dropped back, a Patriot appeared like a jump scare in a horror movie.
Pocket? Gone.
Receivers? Covered.
Hope? Missing since halftime.

Texans Front Seven

Will Anderson Jr. was an absolute menace. 3 sacks, 2 forced fumbles.

I don’t know how many pressures he had, but I do know this:
Drake Maye now hears footsteps when he’s alone.

Anderson was collapsing the pocket, blowing up runs, and generally ruining everyone’s Sunday.

Patriots Secondary

Christian Gonzalez turned the Texans passing game into a restricted area.

  • Routes erased
  • Windows closed
  • Stroud looking like he was trying to solve a Rubik’s Cube under water

This secondary didn’t just cover receivers.
They emotionally covered them.

We NEED to talk about this.

Patriots receiver.
Tight coverage.
Ball slightly behind him.
Gets hit mid-catch.

And then…
ONE. HAND. GRAB.

I watched it three times and still don’t believe it happened.

That wasn’t a catch.
That was a crime scene.

Somewhere, a defensive coordinator retired on the spot.

That play officially broke the Texans, and New England slopped their way into the AFC title game like champions of mess.

NFC SEMIFINAL: RAMS 20, BEARS 17 (OT)

“Someone Check the Rulebook, Because Caleb Williams Is Cheating”

Now THIS game…
This was football crack.

10–10 entering the fourth quarter because both defenses were playing like they hated joy.

Stafford played like he’s been here, done this, and brought snacks.

  • 20/42
  • 258 yards
  • Zero picks
  • MVP energy with zero panic

Under five minutes left, Stafford calmly marched the Rams down the field like a man taking a Sunday stroll.

Touchdown Rams.
17–10.

Ball game?

NOPE.

The Bears get the ball back.

Fail on fourth down.

Somehow get ANOTHER chance.

And then we get THE THROW.

THE THROW

  • 4th down
  • 27 seconds left
  • Season on the line
  • Rolling left
  • Defender breathing on him
  • Launches a missile across his body to Cole Kmet

That pass wasn’t just ridiculous.
That pass violated the Geneva Convention.

Tie game.
Overtime.

Everyone loses their minds.

In OT, Caleb tried to be great again.

Instead…
INTERCEPTION TO CURL.

That’s the rookie lesson.
That’s the “you’re amazing but not invincible” moment.

Stafford gets the ball back and does what grown-ups do — no drama, no chaos, just business.

Enter Mevis, former Jet, which means he’s seen things no kicker should ever see.

He nails the field goal.
Rams win.
Bears heartbreak.
Chicago sports radio explodes.

NEXT WEEK: SUPER BOWL DREAMS ON THE LINE

AFC CHAMPIONSHIP

Patriots vs. Broncos

  • Defense
  • Turnovers
  • Chaos management
  • Whoever screws up less wins

NFC CHAMPIONSHIP

Rams vs. Seahawks

  • Stafford’s calm
  • McVay’s wizardry
  • Zero margin for error
  • Potential insanity

This weekend gave us:

  • Sloppy football
  • Defensive violence
  • A one-handed catch that needs its own documentary
  • A throw that should be framed
  • And a kicker redemption arc nobody saw coming

If THIS is the appetizer…
Next week is about to set the league on fire.

And you already know…
I’ll be yelling about every second of it.

My name is Errol Marks and I’d like to tell you why I believe I can be a major asset to your station. I’m from a small town in Long Island, NY and from a very young age I’ve always had a love for sports talk radio. Growing up, I would listen religiously to shows like Mike and the Mad Dog, Mike and Mike, and Imus in the Morning and studied what made those shows so great. I’ve made it my goal to be as influential as the hosts I grew up listening to, and with my knowledge of all major sports, enthusiastic and fearless personality, and my preparation skills, I know I can get to that level. This is an art and a medium that I’m passionate about and one that I feel can never be replaced.

What makes my story so unique goes beyond my 10+ years of experience in sports media. In addition to over ten years of creating and hosting sports talk radio shows, I created the World Wide Sports Radio Network - one of the first ever digital sports radio networks - in 2012. Since the network began, we have had some of the best content in digital sports media. We have six quality shows on our network covering all sports and sports betting. I’m currently hosting New York’s Sports Loud Mouth, and you can find that show and the rest of our great shows at https://worldwidesportsradio.com/.

Our network’s content and listenership has grown significantly year to year and, in the past year, we’ve achieved 3.6 million minutes listened on our audio stream, over 29k followers on tik tok, 500k viewed on YouTube, 1.7 million downloads on Apple Podcasts, and 906,917 plays on Spotify. While we are enjoying a continued increase in growth, I feel that we can take this to a new level and a new audience with your help.

My goal since the day I started is to become the greatest and most recognizable sports radio show host in the country. I can guarantee that nobody in this industry currently has my passion, personality or ability to shape the future of sports broadcasting and entertainment like I do. If given the opportunity, I hope to further share my story and many talents with you and your station.
