SHOW ME THE MONEY!

The Saudi Pro League has taken the world by storm, Cristiano Ronaldo went there and said this league would attract the best talent, and now they’re attracting the best player in the world; Kylian Mbappe.

French captain Mbappe is now looking to leave Paris Saint-German (again) and this time they cannot throw the money at him. Kylian wants out of the French team he’s been at for the past six years and that could be due to several reasons.

(Neymar and Kylian Mbappe watching PSG fall short in Europe yet again)
It could be due to the revolving door of managers with Galtier, Pochettino, Tuchel, Ancelotti, and Emery coming and going from PSG, not lifting the Holy Grail of European football, the Champions League.

It could be the clash of egos between him and other players such as Leo Messi, Neymar, Marco Verratti, and Sergio Ramos, all of who have left or been put on the transfer list.

The big thing is that Mbappe wants a new challenge, a new experience to prove he is the best in the world. Unbelievable that people still have doubts after him scoring a hat trick in a world cup final and suffering from chronic back pains from carrying PSG in the Champions League.

The club he wants is Real Madrid, and they want him too, but the owners of PSG don’t have the greatest relationship with Real Madrid, because they want their best player of course. The only problem with the interest is that PSG will try anything to not sell Mbappe to the Santiago Bernabeu, even sell him to Saudi Arabia.

The biggest news of the day in sports was the offer that Saudi League side Al-Hilal made for Kylian Mbappe; a world record fee of €300 million. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. If he accepts, which is unlikely, his contract would be 1 year €700 million! The best part is that he can leave after one year and go to his dream club Real Madrid for nothing.

Saudi Arabia is taking over the world of sports with the PIF taking over Newcastle United, splurging on the Saudi Pro League, and taking over reigns at the PGA Golf Tour. For me, it is just the Saudis making the rest of this world richer, and with inflation where it is now, you can’t blame some of us for taking that money.

Kylian Mbappe, the world’s best player heading to a league freshly developed and becoming a billionaire by the end of his contract. Does this hurt the sport in the long run or does it open more opportunities? Players who are not good enough for the top five leagues heading to Saudi Arabia to earn for their families and make it a better league. It’s their world the Saudis, we’re just living in it.

Well, I am 18 years old currently undergoing my Bachelors of Science in Media and communications. I'm currently in my first semester and I would like to be a sports analyst in the future. I am also from Jamaica. I would like to work at one of the biggest sports companies in the world (ESPN/SKY/BT) but everyone needs a start and I would love it if you were to give me that start.
