Well… Conor Benn came to Las Vegas looking for a fight, and Ryan Garcia apparently came looking for the fire alarm.

Because this thing was over so damn fast, somebody in the T-Mobile Arena probably still had popcorn in their hand when the referee was already waving the fight off.

Ryan Garcia absolutely DETONATED Conor Benn on Saturday night, stopping him at 1:25 of the second round to retain the WBC welterweight championship.

Twenty-five seconds into Round 2, Garcia dropped Benn with a right hand.

And from there?

It was basically “Goodnight, Irene.”

Benn got back up, but let’s be honest — his body got up before his brain received the memo.

Garcia followed him to the ropes and started unloading punches like somebody had just told him the bar was closing in five minutes.

Referee Thomas Taylor finally stepped in and stopped the fight, giving Garcia the TKO victory.

Twenty-six fights. Twenty-six wins. Twenty-one knockouts.

And Garcia just recorded his fastest knockout in six years.

The last time Garcia finished somebody this quickly was back in February 2020, when he knocked out Francisco Fonseca in the first round.

So apparently Ryan decided:

“Why waste everybody’s Saturday night?”

THE RIGHT HAND HAS ENTERED THE CHAT

Here’s the scary part.

Everybody knows about Ryan Garcia’s famous left hook.

That thing has been putting people on the canvas like it’s collecting rent.

But against Benn, Garcia showed that he isn’t just living off the hook anymore.

The right hand was doing some serious damage.

Garcia stunned Benn multiple times with the left hook before dropping him with the right hand early in the second round.

And this is now two straight fights where Garcia has scored a knockdown with the right hand.

He did the same thing against Mario Barrios in February.

Garcia even explained afterward that injuries had previously affected his right hand.

Apparently the hand is finally healthy.

And Conor Benn was the unfortunate volunteer for the science experiment.

Garcia basically said:

“Oh, you wanted to see what the right hand could do?”

BOOM.

There goes Conor.

CONOR BENN HAD A PLAN…

Give Benn credit.

He came out aggressive.

He wanted to pressure Garcia. He wanted to get in his face. He wanted to make Garcia uncomfortable.

Unfortunately for Benn, there was one tiny problem with that strategy.

Ryan Garcia was standing there.

Benn tried to bring the fight to Garcia, but Garcia’s speed and power were just too much.

And once Garcia started landing that left hook?

You could almost hear Benn’s corner thinking:

“Maybe we should have taken up golf.”

Benn suffered the first knockout loss of his career.

His only other defeat came by decision against Chris Eubank Jr. in the first fight of their heated rivalry last year.

So Saturday night wasn’t just another loss.

This was the first time somebody put Benn’s lights out completely.

AND THEN RYAN STARTED TALKING…

Because of course he did.

This is Ryan Garcia we’re talking about.

The man had barely finished beating the brakes off Conor Benn before he was already looking around the building for his next victim.

And apparently he found one.

Teofimo Lopez.

Garcia looked directly toward Lopez, who was sitting in attendance, and basically told him:

Get your ass up here.

Then Garcia made it clear he wants to unify the welterweight division.

WBA champion Teofimo Lopez.

WBO champion Devin Haney.

And Garcia wants all of them.

As Garcia put it, he’s ready to clear the division out.

And then he added a little extra spice for Haney.

Let’s just say Ryan hasn’t exactly forgotten everything that happened between those two.

GARCIA VS. HANEY: THE REMATCH NOBODY CAN STOP TALKING ABOUT

Garcia is now 2-1 since moving up to welterweight following his controversial 2024 fight with Devin Haney.

Garcia originally defeated Haney in their WBC junior welterweight championship fight.

But the result was later changed to a no contest after Garcia tested positive for ostarine.

Garcia denied knowingly taking any banned substances.

Now Garcia is standing at the top of the welterweight division screaming for another fight with Haney.

And you already know what that means.

The boxing internet is about to lose its collective damn mind.

AND THEN THERE’S DANA WHITE…

This fight wasn’t just another boxing event.

This was Garcia’s first appearance under the Zuffa Boxing banner, with the event funded and promoted by Turki Alalshikh and Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing.

Garcia remains under contract with Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions.

White said Garcia has one more fight remaining with Oscar.

And if Saturday night was any indication, Garcia’s future is about to become one of boxing’s biggest storylines.

White also said the event sold out with a gate of approximately $8 million.

Not bad for a night that ended with Conor Benn spending more time staring at the ceiling than throwing punches.

SO WHAT’S NEXT FOR RYAN GARCIA?

That’s the million-dollar question.

Actually…

Considering boxing these days?

Probably the hundred-million-dollar question.

Garcia has now established himself as one of the biggest stars in the sport.

He’s undefeated at 26-0 with 21 knockouts, he’s holding the WBC welterweight championship, and he’s calling out champions instead of taking the easy route.

That’s exactly what boxing needs.

We don’t need another six months of fighters sitting around saying:

“We’re just waiting to see what happens.”

No.

Ryan Garcia is saying:

“Bring me everybody.”

And honestly?

LET’S GO.

Give us Garcia vs. Teofimo.

Give us Garcia vs. Haney again.

Give us the biggest fights possible.

Because after watching Garcia turn Conor Benn into a human punching bag Saturday night, I’ve got one question:

WHO THE HELL IS STUPID ENOUGH TO GET IN THE RING WITH THIS GUY NEXT?

My name is Errol Marks and I’d like to tell you why I believe I can be a major asset to your station. I’m from a small town in Long Island, NY and from a very young age I’ve always had a love for sports talk radio. Growing up, I would listen religiously to shows like Mike and the Mad Dog, Mike and Mike, and Imus in the Morning and studied what made those shows so great. I’ve made it my goal to be as influential as the hosts I grew up listening to, and with my knowledge of all major sports, enthusiastic and fearless personality, and my preparation skills, I know I can get to that level. This is an art and a medium that I’m passionate about and one that I feel can never be replaced.

What makes my story so unique goes beyond my 10+ years of experience in sports media. In addition to over ten years of creating and hosting sports talk radio shows, I created the World Wide Sports Radio Network - one of the first ever digital sports radio networks - in 2012. Since the network began, we have had some of the best content in digital sports media. We have six quality shows on our network covering all sports and sports betting. I’m currently hosting New York’s Sports Loud Mouth, and you can find that show and the rest of our great shows at https://worldwidesportsradio.com/.

Our network’s content and listenership has grown significantly year to year and, in the past year, we’ve achieved 3.6 million minutes listened on our audio stream, over 29k followers on tik tok, 500k viewed on YouTube, 1.7 million downloads on Apple Podcasts, and 906,917 plays on Spotify. While we are enjoying a continued increase in growth, I feel that we can take this to a new level and a new audience with your help.

My goal since the day I started is to become the greatest and most recognizable sports radio show host in the country. I can guarantee that nobody in this industry currently has my passion, personality or ability to shape the future of sports broadcasting and entertainment like I do. If given the opportunity, I hope to further share my story and many talents with you and your station.
