It is that time again, playoff basketball with some of the regular suspects. As a side note, this was written before the play-in tournament so some things might be off.

This is going to be one of the most hotly contested playoffs when you see the likes of the Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, and the Oklahoma City Thunder who are back after some time.

Looking at the Western Conference Denver with Nikola Jokic is probably the hot favourite to win the conference. With a fully fit squad inclusive of Jokic, Murray, Porter Jr., and Aaron Gordon, you find it difficult for any team to stand a chance.

The OKC Thunder have the best record in the West. Their coach Mark Daigneault is deserving of his coach of the year award after the work he has done. With Chet Holgrem, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Jalen Williams, mixed in with the experience of Bismack Biyombo and Gordon Hayward, they are probably the most balanced team in terms of youth and experience.

The Minnesota Timberwolves, led by Anthony Edwards, are probably the dark horse for the NBA Championship. The talent this kid has along with the pieces around him can push him to greatness. The obstacle in his way though? is the Phoenix Suns.

Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal should be enough to scare the life out of opponents but it hasn’t been the best of time with all three. Injury has been the main issue they have not been able to dominate the league as much as they were supposed to do.

In the East, I think it has been the most one-sided year ever. Boston with their so-called super team with Jayson Tatum at the helm makes them the ones with the target on their back. It has been the season of the Boston three party and opposing defenders just cannot deal with it. Jrue Holiday has done more than I expected in particular showing he can still clamp down on a guy.

Milwaukee and Philadelphia have been very disappointing with the latter involved in the play-in tournament. The Bucks were on fire, looking like they could go all the way and Dame Lillard could get that elusive first championship, but after a coaching change, the Bucks have been horrendous, losing 7 of their last ten games.

Philly on the other hand is actually on the up, winning their last 8 games to be where they are now. Losing Joel Embiid was a huge blow as it saw Philly relinquish 2nd place and never got back close to it. Jojo is fit now, as is Tyrese Maxey, and the 76ers are coming for the conference.

Personal thoughts? It will be a Boston v. Philadelphia Eastern Conference Finals with the west being decided by the Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets.

Well, I am 18 years old currently undergoing my Bachelors of Science in Media and communications. I'm currently in my first semester and I would like to be a sports analyst in the future. I am also from Jamaica. I would like to work at one of the biggest sports companies in the world (ESPN/SKY/BT) but everyone needs a start and I would love it if you were to give me that start.
