LeBron James hasn’t picked his next team yet, but Pat Riley is out here sounding less like an NBA executive and more like a realtor who gets paid on commission.
Seriously, Riley’s pitch wasn’t, “We’ve got Giannis.” It wasn’t, “We’ve got championship culture.” Nope.
His sales pitch was basically:
“Come to Miami! We have sunshine… golf… no state taxes… and humidity so thick you’ll sweat walking to your mailbox!”
At this point, I’m waiting for Riley to throw in free HOA fees and a complimentary oceanfront condo if LeBron signs before Labor Day.
The funny part? Pat admitted he’s been talking to Rich Paul, but even he has no clue what LeBron is going to do. Join the club, Pat. There are 30 NBA front offices, ESPN insiders, Vegas sportsbooks, and about 8 billion people on Earth trying to figure out what LeBron is thinking. I honestly believe LeBron hasn’t even told LeBron yet.

Meanwhile, Giannis Antetokounmpo is over there playing the perfect teammate.
“I’d love to play with LeBron.”
Of course you would! Who wouldn’t? That’s like someone asking me if I’d want free pizza for life. My answer isn’t changing.
Giannis praised LeBron, called him one of the greatest ever, said he’d learn a ton from him, and even at 41 years old believes he’s still one of the NBA’s elite players. Translation? Giannis is basically saying, “If he shows up, I’ll help carry his golf clubs too.”
Then Riley talked about landing Giannis, saying, “Yeah… we landed the plane.”

Pat… you landed a Boeing 747.
Now you’re trying to land Air Force One.
The crazy thing is Miami isn’t wrong to chase LeBron. If you’ve already got Giannis, why not go all-in? That’s Pat Riley’s entire career. He doesn’t rebuild. He reloads. If there’s a superstar available, Pat starts dialing numbers faster than your grandmother trying to win concert tickets on the radio.
The problem is LeBron’s free agency has become the longest season in sports.
The NBA Finals ended.
Summer League started.
The Home Run Derby happened.
The MLB All-Star Game came and went.
People have already started talking about NFL training camp…
…and LeBron is still “considering his options.”
By the time he makes his decision, we’ll probably be discussing Christmas Day games.
Knowing LeBron, his announcement will probably be a two-hour documentary narrated by Morgan Freeman with guest appearances from Rich Paul, Savannah James, Bronny, Bryce, and somehow Tom Brady.
Until then, every team is doing the same thing…
Waiting.
Pat Riley is waiting.
Steve Kerr is waiting.
Giannis is waiting.
The Warriors are waiting.
The Heat are waiting.
And NBA fans? We’re all refreshing our phones every five minutes like we’re waiting for concert tickets to drop.
LeBron has turned free agency into the longest episode of “The Bachelor” in sports history.
Will he choose Miami? Golden State? Somewhere else?
Find out… probably sometime before the 2026-27 season tips off… hopefully.

My name is Errol Marks and I’d like to tell you why I believe I can be a major asset to your station. I’m from a small town in Long Island, NY and from a very young age I’ve always had a love for sports talk radio. Growing up, I would listen religiously to shows like Mike and the Mad Dog, Mike and Mike, and Imus in the Morning and studied what made those shows so great. I’ve made it my goal to be as influential as the hosts I grew up listening to, and with my knowledge of all major sports, enthusiastic and fearless personality, and my preparation skills, I know I can get to that level. This is an art and a medium that I’m passionate about and one that I feel can never be replaced.
What makes my story so unique goes beyond my 10+ years of experience in sports media. In addition to over ten years of creating and hosting sports talk radio shows, I created the World Wide Sports Radio Network - one of the first ever digital sports radio networks - in 2012. Since the network began, we have had some of the best content in digital sports media. We have six quality shows on our network covering all sports and sports betting. I’m currently hosting New York’s Sports Loud Mouth, and you can find that show and the rest of our great shows at https://worldwidesportsradio.com/.
Our network’s content and listenership has grown significantly year to year and, in the past year, we’ve achieved 3.6 million minutes listened on our audio stream, over 29k followers on tik tok, 500k viewed on YouTube, 1.7 million downloads on Apple Podcasts, and 906,917 plays on Spotify. While we are enjoying a continued increase in growth, I feel that we can take this to a new level and a new audience with your help.
My goal since the day I started is to become the greatest and most recognizable sports radio show host in the country. I can guarantee that nobody in this industry currently has my passion, personality or ability to shape the future of sports broadcasting and entertainment like I do. If given the opportunity, I hope to further share my story and many talents with you and your station.
