Week 8 was filled with drama and also morale victories as Jordan Love and the Packers beat their old mentor in Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers, the Jets picked up their first win over Cincinnati, and the Colts took everyone’s attention now that they are 7-1. We started last week with the Chargers and Vikings and then ended off with Mahomes getting another primetime victory. Nonetheless, here we are today with my top #32 teams after week 8 of the NFL season and we’re not stopping until the season ends!

The best part of this list still is that it will be refreshed so if you do not like where your team is placed they will probably end up higher on this list at some point during the season. I tried my best to not put teams that had a bye that high on the list versus teams that won, I wish everyone a continued great 2025-2026 NFL season. Happy Football once again!

1. Colts: The Indianapolis Colts take the number one spot this week not only due to their record but the consistency they have shown us at this point in the season. Colts must be thinking that they may have found their Quarterback in Daniel Jones and running back Jonathan Taylor currently is top 3 in the league in rushing. This past Sunday for the Colts they dismantled their divisional rival in the Titans and Jonathan Taylor like I just mentioned before, had another two touchdown game. Taking Detroit out of number one this week does not mean much for them however, as they had a BYE week this week and had the week off. The Cinderella story continues for Indy!

2. Lions: Detroit comes off a much deserved BYE week after defeating the Tampa Bay Bucs on Monday night like mentioned in last week’s article. This upcoming week for Detroit they get tested by the Minnesota Vikings, their divisional rival. It will be interesting to see who lines up across at the quarterback position for Minn. (due to Carson Wentz season ending injury). Either way I still expect this Lions offense to flourish. Though the Vikings defense is no slouch, I expect one of the league’s top scoring teams to pick up another win this week.

3. Eagles: Those Kelly Green jerseys man when will they ever lose in them? The answer has been never so far as the Eagles took down their divisional rival in the Giants and they got their revenge from their previous matchup just a couple weeks ago. Saquon had a huge day rushing for 150 yards and a score. Jalen Hurts continues to move the rock efficiently in this offense even if people may call it boring. The NFL also still has trouble officiating the tush push and one can argue that it changes the tone of the game and especially last Sunday. At this point however to talk about that rule or the lack of there being a change, would be beating a dead horse.

4. Rams: The L.A boys are still hot and Matthew Stafford is honestly still making his case for league MVP eventually. The Rams were another team that came off a BYE week last week as they took down the Jaguars. This week for Matthew Stafford’s Rams it is going to be against the Saints who are also starting another quarterback this Sunday in rookie Tyler Shough. I expect the Rams defense to cause turnovers and wreak havoc in what should be an easy win at home for them.

5. Seahawks: Seahawks come in at number 5 on my list this week and they stay put for the most part as they had off in week 8. Sam Darnold continues to dish to the league’s leading receiver in J.S.N and their defense stays strong. For the Hawks in week 8 they travel to Washington on primetime to face Jayden Daniels, who is going to be super hungry for a win after losing to the Chiefs. Can Seattle hold them off or will we see an upset next week?

6. Packers: The Green Bay Packers showed out on Sunday night Football this previous week against a familiar foe. Quarterback Jordan Love was able to beat his old mentor in Aaron Rodgers as he threw for 3 touchdowns and had a huge day throwing the football. Josh Jacobs was not as much of a factor than I would have liked and the same goes to Matthew Golden, who was missed for a wide open touchdown. It was the Tucker Kraft show once again as he caught two scores and had over 100 yards receiving. Next week for the Pack they have an interesting matchup against the Panthers at home.

7. Bills: The Buffalo Bills dismantled the Carolina Panthers and it was a bloodbath. James Cook led the show as he had over 200 yards and ran in for two scores. Josh Allen and the Bills needed this bounce back game as the previous couple weeks have not all gone according to plan for them. This win does come with a cost however, as the training staff believes that edge rusher Ed Oliver tore a pectoral muscle in which if he was out for the season, would be a huge loss for that defense. Upcoming for Buffalo it is an all familiar foe in Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Will the Bills get over that Chiefs hump finally?

8. Bucs: Tampa Bay definitely looked a little slow in the first half against the New Orleans Saints. The Buccaneers on defense stole the game and is what really made this contest go in Tampa Bay’s favor. They created turnovers and got after the quarterback Spencer Rattler all day. I wish I could put this Bucs team even higher because they deserve it, but for me to do that I think BUcky Irving needs to come back healthy and their wide receiver room needs to stay healthy after losing another receiver in veteran Mike Evans last week.

9. Broncos: The Denver Broncos straight up embarrassed Dallas’s defense. Quarterback Bo Nix and the offense had a huge day moving the ball with Bo throwing for over 240 yards and 4 scores! The air attack was strong but so was the run game. Backup running back RJ Harvey had a nice day running in for 2 scores and starting running back J.K Dobbins had over 100 yards rushing for the day. Denver continues to solidify their top 10 presence, it will just be interesting to see how they stack up against the Chiefs and Bills after what was a quick playoff exit last season.

10. Patriots: The Drake Maye era is here folks! The Patriots have already taken the top spot in the AFC East and they are sneakily becoming a top 10 team and I can honestly see them staying in the top 10. Mike Vrabel and this New England defense showed up week after week and they did again as they took down the Browns. The craziest stat to me about this team so far is that they have not let an opposing running back run for more than 50 yards against them! That is how you win football games and take pressure off your offense. Drake Maye had another huge day passing as he adds to his impressive resume so far this year. Whether we like it or not guys, Drake Maye will eventually be one of the league’s best quarterbacks and if he is not already, he is one of the best deep ball throwers in the game.

11. Chiefs: The Kansas City Chiefs moved to 5-3 this past Monday night after beating the Commanders without their star starting QB Jayden Daniels. The defense and offense both showed up greatly in this contest as the defense got to backup quarterback Marcus Mariota greatly and created turnovers in the process. Mahomes exploded throwing for 3 touchdowns and Rashee Rice had another day catching one in the endzone as well. The Kansas City Chiefs are back and I think we will see similar themes across the board for them. As long as Mahomes has his weapons and the defense plays more than solid. The Chiefs look like they could win the AFC West yet again.

12. 49ers: San Francisco lost a pretty big one to Houston. It was a loss that not that many people had them taking (me included). Christian McCaffrey was just straight up a non factor as he did not even rush for 30 yards! The 49ers still had Mac Jones throw two scores but it was clearly not enough as the Texans took the dub. I can see the 49ers falling off more not only because of their abundance of injuries and who knows how much longer Robert Saleh’s defense can last but also because of their division containing the Seahawks. This week for San Francisco they face the Giants in what could be a bounce back game.

13. Chargers: Los Angeles picked up a much needed win as they kicked off week 8 for us NFL fans. Justin Herbert currently leads the league in passing and the offense was still strong again on Thursday night. The defense mostly got after quarterback Carson Wentz (who was playing injured) and is what made this contest rather easy for them. The AFC west division is still tough with having to beat the Chiefs but can the Chargers go on a run here to solidify themselves more? Their offensive lineman are finally getting healthier, it just stinks still that rookie Omarion Hampton is still missing the show. You can tell how much they miss their run game. Their backup Vidal is a serviceable back, don’t get me wrong but it seems they are missing that “oomph” without Hampton in the backfield.

14. Jaguars: Jacksonville had a BYE week this past week and the team had off. The Jaguars are coming off a loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Travis Hunter continues to flourish on both sides of the ball and the Jags look to get him and Brian Thomas Jr. more involved with the air attack. This week for Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars, they travel to Vegas to take on the Raiders in what could be a win they desperately need or we can maybe see an upset in the making if the Raiders take it. I personally think the Jaguars can take care of the job Sunday.

15. Steelers: Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers came up short against a familiar foe for Rodgers as they lost to the Packers during week 8. We all know Aaron wanted this win badly as he would have become one of 5 quarterbacks to beat all 32 NFL teams but it simply did not go that way for him. Rodgers still had a solid day throwing the ball and still had two scores. The defense contained Micah Parsons and co. However, it made it hard for Rodgers to move the rock sometimes and they were honestly terrible on 3rd down conversions. For the Steelers to bounce back I can see that easily for them, but the gauntlet of a schedule they have soon is playing 3 divisional rivals back to back, to back it could definitely be tricky. The Steelers drop two in a row and move to 4-3 on the year. Can the Bengals make a late push?

16. Bears: Caleb Williams and the Bears were another team we did not really see losing this week but they did anyways. They faced a different backup quarterback against the Ravens in longtime veteran Tyler Huntley as he filled in for star Lamar Jackson. The Bears offense did not look super terrible by any means as Caleb had another day moving the rock and running back De’andre Swift ran in for a score but the missed opportunities and turnovers gave the game to Baltimore. Odunze also had a solid day receiving for over 100 yards but ultimately the Ravens defense put up.

17. Falcons: It seems as if Atlanta might be the most consistent inconsistent team if that makes any sense. Starting quarterback Michael Penix Jr. was out due to injury which gave veteran backup Kirk Cousins the nod to start but that is nowhere near unfamiliar territory for Kirk. The offense was stumped as Bijan was a non factor that Sunday and they really took a loss they shouldn’t have against the Miami Dolphins. The coaching needs to be better fast or it could be another year of despair for Atlanta fans after what was an exciting offseason full of hype. If anyone can lead them to a turnaround however, it is Michael Penix Jr. and the star that already is Bijan Robinson. This week they travel to Foxborough to take on the red hot Patriots. Yikes.

18. Cowboys: The offense can clearly keep up at times but it is even more clearer that the defense cannot. They got embarrassed on defense by the Broncos like previously mentioned. Dak Prescott still is top 5 in passing in this league and he is lucky to add Ceedee Lamb back to the lineup because of the star power he gives this offense. I just think the defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus needs to hit the drawing board yet again or his job might be in Jeopardy. With the Commanders sort of slowing down however, will we see the first back to back division champs in the NFC East since 04? It could very much be for the Eagle’s taking again.

19. Ravens: Lamar Jackson is finally back and the Ravens season can potentially be saved and it started last week due to veteran backup Tyler Huntley who played a more than solid game. Derrick Henry finally had another positive day rushing as he ended up in the endzone twice on the day. I think as the Ravens move forward they need to take things game by game to move back up into .500 if they want to add themselves to the short list of teams to make the playoffs after starting the year 2-5. I think they can possibly do it but it will be a bloodbath for them and it will be challenging.

20. Commanders: The Commanders fell quickly to earth after traveling to arrowhead and like I say so much, it will always be hard to win there on primetime as long as #15 is at the helm for the Chiefs. Kinlaw also was a huge injury for the defense and allowed Mahomes to go berserk at times. Nonetheless, it was a bad day for Deebo Samuel as he only had 11 yards receiving and also running back Jacorey-Croskey-Merritt was also not as much of a factor as much as they wanted him to be. The positives for the Commanders team from this game was the pass rush they were able to create at times and also veteran receiver that is coming off a contract extension Terry Mclaurin finally got in the game and had a nice toe tap for the score. Next week for Washington however, it is a huge contest against one of the league’s best in Sam Darnold and the Seattle Seahawks.

21. Vikings: Quarterback Carson Wentz’s season is over as he is required to have season ending surgery. It was clear that day that he was playing injured and that it affected his game greatly. The situation is interesting for the Vikings now because they are trying to add another veteran presence with a JJ McCarthy who is also still not 100% yet and he has not played in quite some time. For me the Vikings defense still always does its part. The Vikings have to find a passer soon though unless J.J can suit up and return sooner rather than later.

22. Panthers: The Panthers got killed like I had previously mentioned and they also go back to the drawing board this week. I don’t think anyone gave them a chance against Buffalo sadly but what can you expect? I still stand on quarterback Bryce Young having an improved year and the positives for Carolina fans still include running back RIco Dowdle who is one of the league’s top rushers this season.

23. Texans: Houston took their victory over the 49ers and it was a much needed win for them. Their offense looked characteristic and what we are used to seeing from C.J Stroud and he had a solid day. Turnovers were created on both sides for the Texans and 49ers but the solid defense that Houston still has was also a factor and is what I believe is what won them the game more.

24. Giants: The Giants let the Eagles get their revenge on them after beating them a couple weeks prior. Even worse for Giants fans was the gruesome injury that happened to star rookie running back Cam Skattebo. It was heartbreaking seeing him go down and the cart come out for him, but he seemed in high spirits just a day later after having successful surgery in Philly. For what’s next for the Giants is running back Tyrone Tracey Jr. coming back into the running-back role. For me though and I’m sure the fans feel the same, the defense should be way better with the talent it contains. What’s next for the G-men? More firing or has Dart and Skattebo saved Daboll already?

25. Bengals: The Bengals gave the New York Jets their first win of the season and it was arguably the game of the week. Joe Flacco and the offense asserted their dominance in the first half and many thought this game was over. The Bengals defense did what they did best and that was to choke another game away. The fans and the players seem frustrated with head coach Zach Taylor and it is clear to see why. Jamar Chase failed to get into the endzone in which he should have, and the Bengals became the league of the week for this week. Next week for Cincinnati they face the Bears who are also hungry for a win.

26. Cardinals: There honestly isn’t much to say about the Arizona Cardinals still as they are still at a standstill with Kyler Murray’s injury. This seems like another throwaway year for Arizona which stinks because they still have talent on this roster especially with star receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. This week for Arizona they travel to Dallas to take on one of the league’s hottest offenses but also the weaker defensive units. I think Dallas can take care of them easily however.

27. Miami: The Dolphins shocked everyone with beating Atlanta but they also beat them convincingly. Tua had a bounce back game throwing for over 200 yards but for 4 touchdowns! He must have heard the smack that was being talked about because Tua had a day! This week for Miami they try and extend their win streak to two and they welcome Lamar Jackson and the Ravens on their home turf as they get week 9 started for us on this thursday night.

28. Browns: The Browns dropped their 6th game of the year after losing to the New England Patriots this past Sunday. Myles Garretts’s frustration grows after he signed a record setting contract for a defensive lineman in NFL history, but the results from the rest of the team have not been there. With Quidshon Judkins and the cowbell back, why is Dillon Gabriel throwing the ball more than 30 times?! I will keep beating the dead horse of putting Shedeur Sanders in at QB until they do it. If I have any prediction and if Kevin Stefanki was smart he would start Shedeur against my Jets in two weeks. We all know what happened the last time when Baker Mayfeild was randomly inserted into that one contest between the Jets and Browns. A star was born.

29. Saints: The Saints dropped their contest against their divisional rival in the Buccaneers. As I mentioned before their first half play was not terrible and at the end of the game they still contained Baker Mayfield and their offense for the most part. The Saints offense however, created too many turnovers and that’s what did it for head coach Kellen Moore. This week for the Saints Spencer Rattler is benched and rookie 2nd round draft pick Tyler Shough is in the mix. It is arguable that Rattler is not the problem but at this point for the Saints, they want to at least see what they have before they go searching for yet another quarterback in next year’s draft class.

30. Jets: My goodness the Jets won a football game. We did not know they could even do it haha. All jokes aside though this was a humongous victory for the Jets as new head coach Aaron Glenn earned his first win as a head coach. This came after a somber morning after learning about the passing of future Jets hall of famer center Nick Mangold. Justin Fields proved critics wrong and Breece Hall led this offense to their miraculous comeback late in the 4th after even throwing a score to rookie tight end Mason Taylor. The Jets have a much needed BYE week this week and it will be interesting to see if they can stack another win after the BYE as they welcome the Browns to the meadowlands in week 10. THEY HAVE FINALLY ESCAPED 32 FOR ME. For now…

31. Raiders: The Las Vegas Raiders entered the BYE week with a weak 2-5 record. They need to have better quarterback play like I say time and time again. Geno Smith hopefully used his week off to train and fix the simple mistakes he keeps making. I just hope rookie running back Ashton Jeanty also continues to flourish or very quickly if these next couple games become ugly for the Raiders, it could be easy to see them with another top 6 pick again next year.

32. Titans: The Tennessee Titans come in at number 32 on my list this week after they also had a needed BYE week last week. Rookie Cam Ward is not really the main issue here as he is not surrounded by too much. In my opinion, find a coaching staff who could elevate this quarterback and this offense. The defense has a solid foundation and is still sneakily solid. This week for the Titans they host the Chargers at home who are looking to get their second consecutive win against Tennessee.
