Week 7 was full of mostly even matchups across the board before we got started with Sunday’s games on paper but it became clear as time went on, who belonged on the field that day and who deserved the W. There were plenty of injuries sadly again negativley affecting teams as injuries always do, but we also have the potential of certain players coming back this week. One of those players is quarterback Lamar Jackson. Is the Ravens season too far gone? Are the Lions considered the team to beat now in the NFL? Where do the Patriots stand now that they are 5-2 atop of the AFC east? Here we are today with my top #32 teams after week 7 of the NFL season and we’re not stopping until the season ends!
The best part of this list still is that it will be refreshed so if you do not like where your team is placed they will probably end up higher on this list at some point during the season. I tried my best to not put teams that had a bye that high on the list versus teams that won, I wish everyone a continued great 2025-2026 NFL season. Happy Football once again!
1. Lions: The Detroit Lions defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who were previously my number one ranked team but this week the Lions honestly dismantled them. As I will get to later on with the Bucs, at some point they were still trying to lead a comeback from Baker and that’s what he does, but the secondary from this Lions defense said no for an answer and were flying across the field giving Mayfield trouble all night. Running back Jahmyr Gibbs ran in for two scores and similarly to Bijan Robinson last week against the Bills, Gibbs rushed for his career high and got a big win during primetime. Even though the Chiefs beat Detroit on primetime, I still see the Lions as the toughest opponent as of now in the league. With a stellar defense and an offense also containing one of the top 5 in receiving yards in Amon- Ra St Brown, there’s no telling where the end of the road is with this team.
2. Colts: Indy is having a complete season thus far and their offensive line keeps shining as Jonathan Taylor the lead back in rushing yards in the NFL continues to eat. He ran in for two touchdowns once again this season and absolutely carved up the LA Chargers defense for almost 300 yards! WIth the defense also coming through and being more than serviceable every time, like I have said before as long as they continue to get good quarterback play from Danny “Indyanna” Jones, we could see a Indiana Pacers style season from this Colts team.
3. Eagles : Jalen Hurts and wide receiver AJ Brown finally got it going this past Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings as he caught two scores and wounded the Vikings defense greatly. Jalen Hurts proved yet again for another week that if the Eagles want to start winning more games he can still throw the ball effectively. For those other two weeks prior however, that was not the case. Other wide receiver Devonta Smith had an injury scare but later came back into the contest to later make big catches and help out the Eagles offense even more. In my opinion there is more to be desired with this run game at this point in the season but let’s see if the Eagles continue to clean up their recent mishaps.
4. Rams: The Los Angeles Rams got their 5th win of the season against the Jaguars on an early slated game and it was well deserved. The story of the day was the performance of Wide Receiver Devante Adams as he finished the day with a hat trick of touchdowns and had a game with 3 of them. Matthew Stafford continues to be top 5 in the league in passing yards and it is showing. The Rams continue to be on pace with their rival team right behind them in this list in the Seahawks.
5. Seahawks: The Seahawks finished up week 7 on a late slated game on Monday night at home in Seattle and they pretty much embarrassed the Houston Texans on national television. The Seahawks defense was relentless in their efforts and held Texans receiver Nico Collins to only 27 receiving yards with no scores. Sam Darnold moved the ball efficiently yet again with also the league’s newest leader in receiving yards, Jaxson Smith Njigba having another game with over 100 receiving yards. The Seahawks have impressive pieces all around and if they keep this up I can see another high win season for Sammy D and the Hawks.
6. Bucs: As I said before when I started with the Lions the Buccaneers offense was mostly quiet for most of the game due to the Lions defense and their strong secondary that game. Quarterback Baker Mayfield had his most underwhelming performance of the season yet and it came with another cost. This offense got more banged up as Mike Evans is set to miss significant time with a collarbone injury. Truly devastating as it was his first game back. Now the Bucs face even more trouble in their injured offense but it is important to note that rookie sensation Emeka Egbuka is back from injury and in this game he was close to scoring. Next week the Bucs get a divisional rival in the Saints to redeem themselves.
7. Bills: The Buffalo Bills had a bye week after dropping a loss to the Atlanta Falcons and this week they face the Panthers who are on a 3 game win streak. For me I want them to run the ball way more than what they did last game and I think Josh Allen needs to take the heat off himself a little bit and stop forcing things. The Bills need to take care of the ball more as well and if they do that they should have no problem facing Bryce Young. Though the Panthers are indeed hot.
8. Packers: The Green Bay Packers narrowly defeated the Arizona Cardinals in a close contest this past week. Jordan Love had another solid game and so did the defense coming up with the w. Running back Josh Jacobs had another good game running in for a score and it seems like tight end Tucker Kraft seems to find the endzone every week as he is becoming one of Love’s favorite targets. This upcoming week for the Pack in steel city, it is a familiar foe in their former star Quarterback: Aaron Rodgers.
9. Steelers: Speaking of the Steelers they fall at number 9 on my list this week and it is after a loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, who I thought could have a slight chance against the Steelers. Ultimately though, I was proved wrong and the Steelers lost. I do still think that the Steelers being atop of their division gives them some bonus points but this is another time where the Steelers offense came alive. I wish that Kaleb Johnson was used more but maybe he’ll get his shot again at some point this season. This upcoming week Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has an emotional game and becomes only the 5th Quarterback in NFL history to have played all 32 teams. Get your popcorn ready guys.
10. 49ers: The 49ers defeated the Atlanta Falcons and running back Christian McCaffrey so far this season has been strong and healthy leading this offense. This was a surprise victory for me due to the defense being so injured, but the defense still came through for them. McCaffrey running in for two scores was major in the contest and silencing Michael Penix Jr. and the Falcons offense should have done it. I will give the 49ers credit where credit is due, their team has many injuries yet coach Shanahan keeps finding ways to win.
11. Broncos: The Broncos had one of the craziest 4th quarter comebacks you will see this year and this came after the Giants were pretty much convincingly winning pretty much the entire game but the game was still a battle for the most part in the beginning. Towards the end of the game quarterback Bo Nix started to heat up and the Giants offense kept coming up empty. Even after the game Coach Payton had something to say about his former opposing quarterback Russell Wilson which I thought was unnecessary and Russ did not like it at all. This week for mile high it is the Cowboys coming to town.
12. Patriots: The Patriots did what I had said they had the possibility to do last week and that was take the number one spot above the AFC East instead of the Buffalo Bills. Drake Maye and company got it rolling against the Cam Ward led Titans and in the first half it was actually a closer contest than we had thought. In the first half Drake Maye had a slower start and in the second half he came alive and at this point in the season he has broken QB records for the Patriots and that is high praise considering the great Tom Brady played for them. Likely new head coach Mike Vrabel got the win over his former squad.
13. Jaguars: The Jaguars took their loss against the Rams out of the country and while it was not the worst of losses considering I have the Rams as a top 5 team, their secondary got absolutely torched by Rams receiver Devante Adams. Even with an injured Puka Nacua on the bench, the Rams were very successful with running their offense on this Jaguars defense. For the Jags this week it’s a much needed BYE week and they get to rest and go back to the drawing board.
14. Chiefs: The Chiefs completed their first victory with wide receiver Rashee Rice back from suspension and as I suspected he easily got in the endzone against the Raiders this past Sunday. Mahomes went ballistic having another day throwing for multiple touchdowns, while he threw three of them. Mahomes shows again why he is one of the best at getting all of his receivers involved and this time it pays off against a divisional rival. With the Chargers still being banged up for now I could see the Chiefs having a resurgence and possibly taking the #1 spot in the AFC West. But in my opinion it is still a little too early.
15. Chargers: The Chargers are the biggest drop for me this week after they keep falling flat against opponents they should be performing better against. Justin Herbert is clearly not really the problem for me as the Chargers still get competent Quarterback play from him and sure, he could be irresponsible with the football more than usual this season but for me, it’s the defense and the fact that they are down to their third string running back due to injuries and such. Combine that with a banged up offensive line and it will cause trouble for no matter what Quarterback is back there. Against a tough Colts team they looked mostly deflated on defense and the offense eventually could not keep up. This week the Chargers get their chance against the Vikings on Thursday night football to kickoff Week 8.
16. Bears: Chicago is finding their way it seems little by little this season as last week they earned another win over the New Orleans Saints. The defense came up big sacking Spencer Rattler over and over it seemed and Caleb Williams did his thing on offense yet again throwing for some solid yardage despite the turnover. Nonetheless the win ended up in Chicago’s favor and this week they head to Baltimore to try and beat on the Ravens for one more week until Ravens Quarterback Lamar Jackson is back.
17. Falcons: The Atlanta Falcons came up short against the 49ers and their offense did not really look the same as it did against Buffalo just a week prior. Bijan Robinson got stopped only rushing for 40 yards on the day and the 49ers defense did a good job despite their defense being injured. Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. still had a solid day throwing for just over 240 yards but it was not enough as they did not find the endzone enough.
18. Cowboys: Dak attack is still present and the Cowboys earned their victory over a divisional opponent this past week and it was huge for them. It was the first week with wide receiver Ceedee Lamb back from injury and he added even more juice to one of the top offenses in the NFL. It is still too early for me to rank them higher, but the 44 point explosion is still something to note. This week for the Cowboys they travel a mile high to face another team coming off a victory in the Denver Broncos.
19. Commanders: The Washington Commanders fell flat on their face against the Cowboys and their offense was underwhelming to say the least. This is not to knock Jayden Daniels but it seems so far this season that it will be a little step back from last year. The Cowboys defense has not been the best this year but the Commanders defense seemed to have played even worse after letting up 44 points like I had just said previously. For me I would like Terry Mclaurin to get more involved on offense still, but at this point I sound like a broken record saying that.
20. Vikings: The Vikings also earned a loss this week but for them it was against the Philadelphia Eagles. In the first half it was sort of a close contest but eventually their defense folded due to their offense not being able to keep up after they let up 2 A.J Brown touchdowns. The defense did a good job containing running back Saquon Barkley for the most part but Carson Wentz and the offense failed to come through in a close contest. This week they get a crack at it again on primetime versus the Chargers who are also hungry for a win.
21. Panthers: The Panthers get their turn this week beating on the winless Jets and to everyone’s surprise they are one of the hottest teams in the NFL extending their win streak to 3. Bryce Young did not have the most spectacular games but when playing against the Jets you don’t really need to. Rico Dowdle also shared carries this time with other runningback Chuba Hubbard but both of them still had solid games against this Jets defense. Despite only scoring less than 20 points, of course that is still enough to beat the winless New York Jets.
22. Giants: Like I mentioned before the New York Giants choked the game away in the 4th quarter up at mile high. They came off vibes of coming up with the win 10 days prior against the Eagles who they funny enough play this week in Week 8, but in Denver they let their guard down on defense and kept making mistakes late in the game on offense. The duo of Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo is still strong as Dart threw for 3 touchdowns but as for Cam he was silenced for most of the day only rushing for 40 yards. That all led to Dart throwing the ball more but with that came a turnover.
23. Texans: The Houston Texans looked absolutely horrible against a good Seattle team. There is not much to say about this team right now to be honest but it really is a shame how bad they are because I like quarterback C.J Stroud. But on Monday their offense looked completely lost and they could not even move the chains at all. In this part of the list is where we go over some stinkers and Houston was definitely one of them this week. Their defense could not lock up receiver Jaxson Smith Njigba at all and it was funny to watch. Do better Houston.
24. Raiders: The Raiders got killed by the Chiefs and it’s a shame because once upon a time ago these games used to always be close against the Chiefs and Raiders and they even were when Derek Carr was the QB. Geno Smith continues to cost this team games and in my opinion it is starting to look like a throw away season already for the Raiders. I just hope rookie Ashton Jeanty continues to thrive and he continues to develop into a top back, which I know he can be.
25. Cardinals: The Cardinals like I have said so many times mostly rely on the health of Kyler Murray and the health of their running backs and for yet another year both of those things have not come through for them. They played another close contest against the Green Bay Packers which I will give them credit for but for me there’s no real sense of direction with this team in an already crowded division with the Seahawks and Rams.
26. Browns: The Browns earned another victory over the Dolphins and they embarrassed them quite frankly. Tua throwing 3 INT’s to the Browns defense made their day and made things a lot easier for Quarterback Dillion Gabriel. After trading Joe Flacco they earned another victory but it was a monster day for Quidshon Judkins as he ran in for not one, not two, but for 3 scores on the day. This week for the Browns they travel to Foxborough to try and mess up the Patriots mojo as they have been hot recently.
27. Dolphins: The Miami Dolphins almost looked unwatchable last week and they suffered a bigtime loss against Cleveland. The relationship between head coach Mike Mcdaniel and Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa keeps getting lower and worse as in the press conference he was not afraid to point at the bad quarterback play as the reason for the loss. Tua throwing 3 INT’s will never win you a football game and they go back to the drawing board. Miami having one win however, I’m surprised I do not have them lower on this list. Losing Darren Waller to IR also will not be good for them after just trading tight end Jonnu Smith.
28. Bengals: Joe Flacco earns a win for the Bengals after being on the team for less than 2 weeks and to the Steelers surprise it came on the last game to end week 7. The Bengals had a close contest all around but it ended up in their favor. Jamar Chase had a big day finally and it was what we all were waiting for. Even without Trey Hendrickson the defense showed up and stopped the Steelers at times. This week for the Bengals they get their turn at beating on the winless New York Jets.
29. Saints: I will keep standing on Spencer Rattler and the Saints not being the easiest win in the world but after this week they showed why they did not deserve to win that game. With lots of sacks and turnovers it would have been hard for anyone to win that game. Back to the drawing board as I love to say for the Saints but for this week not much has changed with this squad.
30. Ravens: The Baltimore Ravens were served grace last week as they had a much needed BYE week and they hope Quarterback Lamar Jackson comes back soon. They hope to revive their season after a horrible start but it might look like Lamar will need one more week of rest to be fully able to play. For Week 8 it’s the Ravens at home against Chicago and it will be interesting to see how they match up against each other (more so if Lamar plays). Will Lamar turn this ship around and beat statistics when it comes to poor starts and the playoffs?
31. Titans: The Titans got almost blown out by their former head coach in Mike Vrabel this past week and there were almost no really big positives in the second half. Though Cam Ward did find himself throwing into the endzone for a score, it was nowhere near enough to come up top over the Patriots.
32. Jets: Is this now considered rock bottom? The offense without Garrett Wilson looks like a mess and it even got Justin Fields benched eventually but even with Tyrod Taylor at the helm it seemed to have made no difference. The defense and special teams came up and showed up for the second straight week as they let up less than 20 points but yet again, with how this offense is playing that would be a hard feat for them. There is quite literally no direction for this team as of now. It just so hurts after high expectations of Fields and Garrett Wilson as a tandem but for Jets fans we are oh so used to disappointment. When will the Jets first win come? My guess is no time soon.
