Week 5 was arguably the most important yet as we saw teams compete more without their top tier quarterback like the Baltimore Ravens missing Lamar Jackson. Clearly the main takeaway from this week is there no longer being undefeated teams. On the flipside of that the New York Jets now get granted the sole possession of the number one pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. They are the only winless team left in the league as they stand alone in that category. Here I am again to go over my top 32 list of the NFL and this is the aftermath after week 5 of the 2025 NFL season.

The best part of this list still is that it will be refreshed so if you do not like where your team is placed they will probably end up higher on this list at some point during the season. I tried my best to not put teams that had a bye that high on the list versus teams that won, I wish everyone a continued great 2025-2026 NFL season. Happy Football yet again!

1. Eagles: While the Eagles did blow a massive lead to the Denver Broncos this past weekend, it is still hard for me to determine the top two teams on this list. All factors taken into consideration, this is Philadelphia’s first loss in over 200 days and that alone is crazy to think about. Jalen Hurts actually did not have a bad day passing as he finished the day with 280 passing yards and threw for 2 scores. The possibility and fact of the Eagles moving out of the number one spot is very real especially if they drop another game or convincingly enough do not look like the number one team potentially after this week. Will anyone de-crown the Eagles sometime this week? I think it’s on the horizon.

2. Bills: The Buffalo Bills suffered the consequences of not protecting the quarterback and also faced the consequences of turning the ball over. They lost last Sunday night to their division woe in the New England Patriots, and opposing head coach Mike Vrabel was ready for them. It was another close contest for the Bills for the most part but the game ended up going in New England’s favor by the end of it. Josh Allen and the offense looked slower and created more errors and that’s what made New England stay in the game. Next week for the Bills it is a test against Michael Penix and the Falcons coming off a bye week.

3. Lions: I’ll be completely honest, it does not totally feel right for me yet to put the Detroit Lions this high on the list. But all in all, they have the highest scoring offenses through the first couple of weeks yet again. The Detroit Lions last week showed why their offense was so strong again as both running backs David Montgomery and running back Jahmyr Gibbs ran in for scores. The Lions convincingly beat the Bengals but for me to put them above the Bills and Eagles, they will need more quality wins in my opinion. Like I have said before if the Bills or Eagles lose convincingly, that can all change soon.

4. Bucs: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers narrowly defeated the Seattle Seahawks in their own home this past Sunday. It was a great showing from both squads as it was one of the best games of the day. Even without running back Bucky Irving due to injury, Rachaad White in his place took the reins and still helped this offense move. Emeka Egbuka continues to add to his rookie of the year campaign as Baker and this Bucs team are amongst the hottest in the NFL. If they can fix some of the ugly penalties and some hiccups on defense, they can be elite.

5. Broncos: The Denver offense and Sean Payton got it done and handed the Eagles their first loss. I was one week off of the Eagles first loss but to lose to Denver it would make sense. They still possess one of the league’s best defenses especially with cornerback Patrick Surtain II who also showed up big this past Sunday. If Quarterback Bo NIx can keep this offense hot with Wide receiver COrtland Sutton and company, they can be one of the better teams in a crowded AFC West division.

6. Rams: The Los Angeles Rams dropped their divisional game to start the week against the San Francisco 49ers and it was a close contest. The game went to OT and Sean McVay said after the game that he hated his decision to kick a field goal late in the game. Nonetheless I still keep the Rams this high because of their team’s consistency and their offensive weapons. We still have to recognize that Matt Stafford is top 5 in passing yards through 5 weeks and Wide Receiver Puka Nacua keeps up his strong season as he has broken records at this point already in the season.

7. Packers: The Green Bay Packers last week tied against the Cowboys and now are coming off a BYE week as they face the Bengals this week. The difference in this game is that this is the second time the Packers are facing Quarterback Joe Flacco as he is the new starting Quarterback for the Bengals after the trade. I think the Packers could have a bounce back week as wide receiver Chistian Watson comes back from injury. But as I stated previously, if the Packers want to have meaningful success this season their team needs to be more healthy. Jordan Love is the man to do so however.

8. Jaguars: The Jaguars have honestly proved me wrong at this point in the season. The Travis Hunter we have been waiting for on offense also arrived as they upsetted the Chiefs this past Monday night. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence honestly stole the show from Patrick Mahomes as the Jaguars came away late in the game. The Chiefs hung around all game and arguably still played well. For this Jacksonville offense however, they have been hot and ready so far in the season. Now Liam Cohen has the best record for the first year head coaches as he advances to 4-1.

9. Seahawks: The Seattle Seahawks continue to play well. The thing in my opinion that might be lacking is perhaps their secondary. The offense continues to produce under HSN and quarterback Sam Darnold keeps putting up points but it seems the underlying issue with this team is their defense. All in all however it was still a very close matchup and it is always hard to play away at Seattle, being one of the most electric fan environments in sports. I currently still have them above san fransisco due to their teams consistency and overall rosters.

10. Colts: The Colts seemingly dismantled the Las Vegas Raiders this past Sunday. The final score being 40-6, it was an easy one for the Colts. The defense created turnovers and for the offense it was a field day. Currently as it stands, running back Jonathan Taylor continues to shine week in and out, as he currently is top 5 in rushing yards through 5 weeks. This Colts team keeps overperforming also with Tyler Warren leading his tight end room as a rookie. How long can this streak last? They face a tough opponent in Arizona this week.

11. Chargers: After losing back to back games I simply had to drop the Chargers a tad. Through the first three weeks of the season they looked like a top 5 team. Though it was clear that last Sunday that they were missing their top two offensive linemen due to injury in Rashawn Slater and tackle Joe Alt. They dropped their game against a strong opponent with the Washington Commanders so I will still have them just outside the top 10. Now with Omarion Hampton out due to injury, that is also not good news as Justin Herbert is looking to improve his quarterback play compared to the last couple of weeks.

12. 49ers: The San Francisco 49ers defeated their divisional rivals in the Los Angeles Rams and quarterback Mac Jones surprisingly looked very composed. It was a big day for the Robert Saleh led defense as they came up big to stop a touchdown late in the game. Now the confusing aspect about this team is if they should go back to quarterback Brock Purdy that is returning from injury. In my opinion they should because of the huge extension of Purdy but if he starts to struggle, it would honestly create a controversy at the position a little.

13. Steelers: The Pittsburgh Steelers are also coming off a BYE week as they played out of the country previously. They stand alone in their division and it looks like another year of playoffs possibly for head coach Mike Tomlin. This year the division is completely reshaped with Bengals Star Quarterback Joe Burrow out with injury and Ravens Quarterback Lamar Jackson out with a hamstring injury. If Aaron Rodgers and this Steelers defense can keep it up against the Browns, they can come up with a huge division win. Though they are going up against a rookie quarterback on the opposing side, I expect this Pittsburgh defense to also eat.

14. Commanders: The Washington Commanders came up with a big win against the LA Chargers as quarterback Jayden Daniels returned from injury. Runningback Bill Kroskey Merritt continued to shine as he ran in for a score and had a strong day of rushing the ball. Their defense, still being a big question mark for me, is still a factor and in my opinion I wanted to see tight end Zach Ertz get more involved as he did not even finish the day with a catch. If the offense can get even more explosive, expect the Commanders to get higher on this list. 14 still feels right for me in the middle of the pack.

15. Patriots: New England came up with a huge divisional win over the Bills to end the week off and Stefon Diggs had a veteran showing. It was the Stefon Diggs we were used to seeing as he received for over 130 yards and had a huge game. The story for me this time was the defense as they created turnovers against Josh Allen and came up big. If Quarterback Drake Maye can continue to improve, I expect this Patriots team under head Coach Mike Vrabel to improve.

16. Chiefs: The Kansas City Chiefs continue to lose close matchups and their team suffers from it at this point in the year. To me their defense could be playing better and it could be what is holding them back. I still believe their offense has good pieces here with Brown and Xavier Worthy. But it seems like it won’t be enough firepower until maybe Rashee Rice comes back from suspension soon and adds yet another weapon for Mahomes. Is this an off year for the previous AFC Champions?

17. Texans: Houston grabbed a much needed victory this past Sunday against a completely depleted Ravens squad. Quarterback CJ Stroud looked a lot stronger with moving the ball efficiently against a very poor defense with the Ravens. Running back Nick Chubb also had a nice showing and it is looking like it is his running back room for the taking as of now with Joe Mixon still out with injury. This week for the Texans it is facing arguably a top 10 team in the Seahawks at Seattle.

18. Cowboys: The Cowboys fiddled with the Jets offensive line last week and it honestly was hilarious. The Cowboys defensive pass rush looked strong and that is the first time I have said that this season. Was it because of how poor the Jets were or because it was a strong showing from Dallas? Regardless, George Pickens also had a good game as he sauced Sauce Gardner for a score and Quarterback Dak Prescott is still a leader efficiently in passing yards up to this point. For me their defense is still not as strong but their offense keeps producing and producing.

19. Falcons: The Atlanta Falcons are another team coming off a Bye and at this point in the season it has been mixed from what we have seen with them. They dropped an important game to the Panthers and ended up not even scoring in that contest. This week for Atlanta, they try to redeem themselves against a tough opponent in the Buffalo Bills. I have a feeling that they could complete the upset honestly, since they are at home.

20. Cardinals: The Arizona Cardinals are a team in my opinion that came up short this past week. They dropped a game to a winless team in the Titans and for me that can change the way a team creates momentum sometimes. It was supposed to be an easy win for the Cardinals but they ended up not getting it done. The connection between Kyler Murray and Marvin Harrison Jr is still strong and I thought third string running back Michael Carter II had a great game with two touchdowns but it was clearly not enough as the Titans came away.

21. Vikings: The Vikings narrowly lost once again but lucky for them this time instead of playing the Steelers, they played the Cleveland Browns. The offense did look a little bit better with moving the sticks as Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison got involved and Carson Wentz had a better day. For me this team would be so much better if we only got to develop JJ McCarthy more. Sadly for the purple people eaters, we might not know when that will continue.

22. Bears: The Chicago Bears are coming off a bye week and it came at an okay time for them. The team sits at 4th place in the NFC North as they look to improve their spot and prove that they belong. Ben Johnson up to this point has not been shabby as we have seen him actually hold this team accountable somewhat. I think if this team’s defense improves and that they get rookie tight end Colston Loveland moe involved I think we could see a better Bears team.

23. Giants: The New York Giants dropped their last contest to the New Orleans Saints and allowed them their first win. Jaxson Dart had a couple nice rushes for gains but the fumble lost by runningback Cam Sakteboo ultimately changed the game. The wide receiver room is very depleted after losing Malik Nabers to a terrible ACL tear and it might hinder Dart’s passing game if no other receiver steps up. In my opinion, Daboll’s seat is still somewhat hot.

24. Ravens: The Baltimore Ravens look completely lost on both sides of the ball without Quarterback Lamar Jackson and this past week they got their behinds handed to them by Houston. For Baltimore it seems they are back at square one with all of the injuries they have on defense and they need to turn their season around quickly. They have solid options on offense obviously still but this team needs to get it together and get healthier. Is longtime head coach John Harbaugh getting into some turbulence here?

25. Panthers: The Panthers completed their upset against the Miami Dolphins and surprised everyone this week again. This oddly enough is the Panthers second win of the season as I had them as one of the lowest ranked teams just a couple weeks ago. Bryce Young still shows flashes of being a good quarterback in this league but then again he also still makes mistakes that makes me question his decision making. Rico Dowdle absolutely exploded for over 200 yards as he added to his progressive season but it seems like the Panthers are still a long way from success.

26. Dolphins: The dolphins as I just mentioned dropped their game to the Carolina Panthers despite a solid showing from Quarterback Tua T. The Afc East is growing weaker and weaker and them losing Tyreek Hill to injury continued to hinder their offense despite Darren Waller scoring once again and Devon Achane having another big game as well. Achane has been the highlight of their season so far but outside of that, there is not much to be too impressed with the Dolphins up to this point.

27. Bengals: The Bengals continue to keep dropping and dropping as they continue to miss Quarterback Joe Burrow from injury week and week. This time they trade for quarterback Joe Flacco as Jake Browning is relieved of his starting quarterback job. But for me no matter what quarterback you put behind this offensive line, they will fail or have trouble succeeding.

28. Raiders: It was another week of turnovers for quarterback Geno Smith and the whole offense was shut down. Geno is what is holding this team back in my opinion and they got absolutely destroyed by Indiana. Las Vegas’s season could get ugly quickly but I hope that is not the case because I like coach Pete Caroll and there are good pieces on this offense like rookie Ashton Jeanty. Without the turnovers hopefully Smith can improve, or his starting job might be in jeopardy.

29. Titans: The Titans earned their first win on the season against the Arizona Cardinals in a close contest last Sunday. It was the first win ever for Cam Ward’s career as they hope to grab a couple more wins. The defense showed out in this one and this is what I was talking about with their sneaky good redzone defense and defensive unit. Calvin Ridley went for over 100 yards and Cam Ward finished with a solid line throwing for over 200 yards and only one turnover. The growing pains will continue for the rookie but with some help added hopefully in the offseason, they can find more success and find a way to continue to unlock Cam Ward. Will it be this season? I’m not too sure.

30. Saints: The Saints at this point in time are a sneaky team. They should be an “easy” win on everyone’s schedule but the reality is that quarterback Spencer Rattler has been anything but horrible through these first couple of weeks. They grabbed their first win like the Titans this past Sunday against the Giants and it was a well earned victory. Not that the Saints will do anything crazy meaningful this season but we do have to note also that so far this season, Spencer Rattler is top 5 in passing completions and that stat in itself is something he can pat himself on the back for.

31. Browns: The Cleveland Browns also recently played overseas and it was an actually okay contest for them despite losing the lead and ultimately losing the game. Both tight ends Harold Fannin Jr and David Njoku ended up getting involved and it was rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel’s first start but for Cleveland quarterbacks no one ever has won their first start. That theme kept true and at this point in the season after trading Joe Flacco there are only two quarterbacks on the roster with Shedeur Sanders being the only other outside of Gabriel. What Stefanski’s plan is for the QB2 role is uncertain but only time will tell. I still say to start Shedeur Sanders and to give the guy a shot. He deserves it.

32. Jets: Not only are the Jets definitely the worst team in the NFL, they certainly played like it this past Sunday against the Cowboys. They now solely possess the number one pick in the 2026 NFL draft as they are the only winless team in the NFL now. Outside of Justin Fields, Garrett Wilson, and Breece Hall this whole team looks lost. So far I am disappointed with the way this team has not come prepared every Sunday and the defense gets torched every week. In my opinion Aaron Glenn needs to figure out things fast and start winning because whatever he is trying now is not working. All of this and they are also still the only team in the NFL without a forced turnover. Sadly for the Jets they face one of the league’s best in the Broncos this weekend in London and earn a bye week three weeks later. Oh boy.
