Week 3 had its ups and downs as any week has had but with this week we had some insane storylines. Week 3 kicked off with the Bills and Dolphins facing off and then ended with the Monday night primetime game between the Detroit Lions and the Baltimore Ravens. This is my fourth entry in my power rankings this year for the 2025 NFL season and this is the week 3 edition of my rankings.

The best part of this list still is that it will be refreshed so if you do not like where your team is placed they will probably end up higher on this list at some point during the season. I wish everyone a continued great 2025-2026 NFL season. Happy Football!

1. Eagles: The Eagles completed their comeback against the Los Angeles Rams after being down 26-7 this past Sunday. I am still keeping the Eagles at one due to them still not losing and them still being the previous Superbowl Champions. Jalen Hurts led the offense to a moral victory and the Eagles still stand undefeated and still beat one of the top teams in the Rams who I thought played them very well in the playoffs the previous season. Though the test this week for the Eagles being the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who usually have their number, I have them catching their first loss of the season this week.

2. Bills: Buffalo completed their Thursday night matchup which decided to kick off week 3 of the 2025 NFL season and we were pleasantly surprised that the Dolphins kept it interesting. The Dolphins made it interesting for about 5 minutes however, as Josh Allen threw for over 200 yards and James Cook ran in for a score with over 100 rushing yards. Buffalo being 3-0 while the rest of the division is still struggling combining for 4 total wins, attests to how bad the Afc East is shaping up to be this year. They leapfrog the Packers in this list due to Green Bay getting upsetted by the Cleveland Browns this past Sunday and in my humble opinion I cannot place them underneath the new and hot Chargers above them just yet.

3. Chargers: Los Angeles being 3-0 after going through a gauntlet of in division opponents is super impressive to me. Through 3 weeks Quarterback Justin Herbert has looked very good with connecting with wide receiver Quinten Johnson and co. and now they have improved on what I wished last week and that was getting rookie running back Omarion Hampton involved. Hampton finished the contest with 70 yards and a score to end the night and I am sure Harbaugh will be using him even more in the run game as other running back Najee Harris suffered a season ending injury tearing his ACL this past Sunday. The Chargers come as the number three team in this week’s list as they sit atop of the AFC west all alone.

4. Packers: The Green Bay Packers lost a stinker this past Sunday as their offensive line crumbled under pressure and they let the Browns get to quarterback Jordan Love 5 times throughout the game. Their offensive weapon in Josh Jacobs was stopped, only gaining 30 rushing yards on the day and Cleveland’s defense showed why it is still a force to be reckoned with. The Packers success still continues to lie on their team being healthy but in this previous contest it was not the case with losing their two offensive linemen to injury. I still am thinking that there is more to be desired with rookie wide receiver Matthew Golden as well but as it is still early in the season, I expect the Pack to put this one behind them moving forward.

5. Bucs: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won in arguably ugly fashion against the New York Jets this past Sunday. Their team struggled with penalties throughout the game causing drives to be extended for the opposing team and it almost cost them the game. The Bucs finished the day with 14 penalties for 124 yards. Though lucky enough for Tampa, they have one of the league’s best in 2 minute drills with quarterback Baker Mayfield. The Jets, after blocking a field goal, left too much time on the clock for Baker and the offense to get rolling, and they put this game to rest. Rookie star Emeka Egbuka continues to shine as he honestly too showed out big in this game as he faced Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner and company. Todd Bowles and the crew however have a tough matchup against the superbowl winning champs in the Eagles this week, however I predict the Bucs to get it done as long as they fix their penalty mishaps.

6. Rams: Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams took an early convincing lead over the Philadelphia Eagles before letting them come back. The Rams were up by two scores and after a combined defensive push by the Eagles and the Rams continuing to not cash in on offense, they paid the price. Quarterback Matthew Stafford finished the day with throwing two touchdowns but after the defensive crumble by the rams, it was no use.

7. Lions: The lions have been one of still the more surprising squads so far three weeks into the season as they stand at 2-1 on the year. This past Monday night showed us more of the offensive struggles of the Baltimore Ravens but also the poise of quarterback Jared Goff leading his offense, in a statement win over the Baltimore Ravens. Runningback Jahmir Ghibbs still showed out in another great contest rushing for over 67 yards and two scores and even other running back David Montgomery ran for two scores as well. Head coach Dan Campbell continues to show why he was not worried about losing both coordinating coaches to head coaching jobs. How long the Detroit Lions success can continue will be determined by also how the rest of the NFC North goes.

8. Ravens: Lamar Jackson and company definitely did not see the year starting 1-2 and Derrick Henry the running back fumbling late in the 4th quarter ultimately decided the game. Wide receiver Zay Flowers had an ugly game only receiving for only 13 yards and it seemed like quarterback Lamar Jackson was the only one ready to play. Lamar finished the game with 3 total touchdowns but it was not enough as their defense struggled to stop the scorching hot offense that is the Lions who have scored 30 plus points in back to back weeks. The Ravens upcoming matchup against the Chiefs is no easy feat as they are usually their kryptonite but with a plethora of receivers out for Kansas City, it might be a different matchup than we are used to seeing from the two. This is the lowest rating I have given Baltimore thus far this season.

9. Colts: The Colts being in the top 10 this early in the season is something to note as of now. Previously they have had obvious quarterback trouble but quarterback Daniel Jones currently is top 3 in the league with passing yards! Great games from running back Jonathan Taylor who is currently holding the rushing crown through 3 weeks into the season, there is a lot to love with this Colts offense so far. While they did manage to finally punt in a game this season, they have a mighty test with Matthew Stafford and the Rams this week as they travel to Los Angeles.

10. Seahawks: Anyone could have told you that the Seahawks this past Sunday were to defeat the Saints in a ugly matchup that was for New Orleans. Sam Darnold decided to dish again as he threw for 2 touchdowns and wide receiver Jaxson- Smith Njigba had another great game. The Seahawks did not move any spots in this week’s list as number 10 still feels right. They have not lost badly yet for the losses they do have, and I do not see the hawks slowing down anytime soon. With a divisional opponent in the Cardinals this week, it will be a great matchup of 2-1 teams.

11. 49ers: The 49ers being 3-0 to start the year move up a couple places in this week’s rankings due to the fact that they keep winning with backup quarterback Mac Jones. To say that the 49ers are currently overachieving is an understatement as they keep losing players to injury and also they lost a lot of players in the offseason to free-agency. Now the new injury for the 49ers is defensive star Nick Bosa who suffered a torn ACL in last Sunday’s matchup against the Cardinals. Though with quarterback Brock Purdy getting back into the mix, it shall be interesting to see if he can keep San Francisco’s winning streak alive.

12. Broncos: Denver dropping yet another close game, this time to a divisional opponent is rough. They lost the game to the Chargers by only a field goal and their roster for the most part still looked solid throughout the contest. Wide receiver Cortland Sutton connected with quarterback Bo Nix for a score and their offense looked great with running back JK Dobbins who also went in for a score. If the Broncos can start to finish more in the 4th quarter, I imagine that their record would improve much more. Start creating more turnovers with your great defense and let’s get the ball rolling.

13. Commanders: Rookie Jacoby Croskey Merrit has arrived as the previous week, veteran Austin Ekeler tore his achilles. The Commanders still won against the Raiders with usual star sophomore quarterback Jayden Daniels out of the game with a knee injury. Though Daniels is expected to be back sooner rather than later, Marcus Mariota stepped up big in his place. Deebo Samuel also getting in the mix was a positive sight to see for Washington and for this week it is Atlanta in an away game. Can Washington’s defense improve or will we see more of the same?

14. Cardinals: Kyler Murray and the crew dropped a close one to the 49ers and it was unbelievable how they lost that game. Though there are still positives for Arizona, the injury for runningback James Connor is not a good one. It’s his second year suffering an injury as he injures the same foot as he did the previous year. There are still good pieces on this Cardinals offense such as sophomore year wide receiver Marvin Harrison Junior, I believe it will still be a tough division with the Rams and Seahawks involved.

15. Chiefs: The Chiefs grabbed a close one against the Giants this past Sunday night and they did what they could against the New York Giants. My prediction of the Chiefs refusing to start 0-3 came true as Patrick Mahomes finished the game with over 200 passing yards and a score. With their wide receivers returning in a couple weeks, it could be a slight emergence for the Chiefs. It might not be this week however as they face a familiar foe in Lamar Jackson and the ravens in their own house in Arrowhead. Can the Chiefs prove yet again that they are the Ravens kryptonite? Or is this going to be a different matchup between the two than we are used to seeing?

16. Atlanta: If anyone told you that they had Carolina coming on top of the Falcons this past Sunday they are lying, I’m afraid. I felt as if nobody had this on their bingo card but the most surprising fact was that Atlanta was shutout 30-0 by their in division opponent. Michael Penix Jr. threw two interceptions as the Panthers won the turnover battle. Atlanta having Washington this week will be interesting as they will either prepare for Marcus Mariota coming off the win or a Jayden Daniels wanting to redeem himself. I expect this offense to look much better this week after an uncharacteristic game versus Carolina.

17. Steelers: Very interesting that the next two teams on the list face off in a totally different country this upcoming week. The game I am talking about is the Pittsburgh Steelers versus the Vikings. Backtracking to last week the Steelers get it done against a feisty opponent with the Patriots. The biggest story was Aaron Rodgers passing Brett Favre for number 4 on the list for all time passing touchdowns as he leap frogs him. The defense also came up big in this game getting to quarterback Drake Maye throughout the game. Kennith Gainwell looks like the clear running back one as of now. Off to Dublin!

18. Vikings: The Vikings absolutely dismantled the Cincinnati Bengals this past Sunday as quarterback Carson Wentz looked as if he did not miss a step. It was his first start in quite some time but the veteran looked solid. Though you may argue that it was an easy win for the vikings due to the amount of stupid turnovers that the Bengals had, the offense still looked swell. Isaiah Rodgers on the defensive side of things had a game with two defensive touchdowns. Running back Jordan Mason also came through filling in for the injured Aaron Jones as he ran in for two scores and finished with over 100 yards . With Jordan Addison now returning from suspension, it is easy to see why more than one quarterback can succeed with this offense. The question is for me if Wentz wins a second straight game, do you bench him for JJ McCarthy?

19. Bears: Chicago I know is very pleased with beating the Cowboys. The flea flicker played during the game by head coach Ben Johnson was a beautiful sight to see as Caleb Williams torched the Cowboys defense, who seems to be getting torched every week. Quarterback Caleb Williams finished the day with multiple passing touchdowns and the defense got the job done in stopping the Cowboys run game and opposing quarterback Dak Prescott. As I predicted in the previous week’s entry the Bears defense improves this week after getting destroyed by Detroit. Has Ben Johnson finally found out how to hold this Chicago Bears team accountable? Seems like a hard feat for years past but the future looks bright with their young stars.

20. Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence had a bounceback game against the Houston Texans who I wrongfully took in this game. Brian Thomas Jr. however struggles to get impactful plays in games thus far. They won the game by just a score but it was satisfying on the Jaguars end to still get a win over a divisional opponent. Still lots to prove in my opinion but Jaxsonville moves to 2-1 on the year.

21. Patriots: The Patriots fall to 1-2 after dropping a game at home versus the Pittsburgh Steelers. The defense still leaves much to desire but I still like what I see from quarterback Drake Maye. The connection between him and the offense has looked solid thus far but it was not enough to stop Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers. For this upcoming week it can be a better outing against Carolina, however they are coming off upsetting the Falcons with a win so I suspect things to not be as easy as we might predict for the New England Patriots this upcoming week.

22. Cowboys: Continued solid quarterback play from Dak Prescott proves this time against the Bears why it is not enough by itself. The biggest story in this game was the injury of Ceedee Lamb, who is revealed to have suffered an ankle injury that could sideline him for weeks. The real reality of the Cowboys dropping even further in this list is here. I expect more out of this run game with Blue and Williams, but this past Sunday it was shut down by Chicago.

23. Texans: Houston Falling to 0-3 is straight up terrible for me. I had not predicted Houston to fall this far in the beginning of the season. Though they have played some solid squads so far and we always have to remember that divisional games like ones against the Jaguars, will more than likely be close. CJ Stroud’s struggles so far this season comes from the lack of offensive help he has had. Which is surprising considering all of the receiving weapons they contain. I expect much more from this Texans team if they want to continue to compete and have a year like they did the previous season in 2024.

24. Raiders: Geno Smith and this offense so far is simply not working out how new Head Coach Pete Carroll had imagined. They dropped a game to backup quarterback Marcus Mariota with Washington and they did not even make the game close. Their defense being off to a slower start than normal does not help anything either but I expect Max Crosby to start to put the team on his back more, as he is still a force in this league. The key for me however and the most surprising thing so far with the Raiders is the lack of rushing yards and gameplan for their new rookie Ashton Jeanty. I would love to see him more involved as this has become a negative theme for the Raiders 3 weeks into the season.

25. Bengals: The Cincinnati Bengals without Joe Burrow look lost. The offense looked completely different this week after a previous successful victory over the Jaguars with their backup Jake Browning getting the Nod this time. Minnesota’s defense created multiple turnovers as the Bengals had ball security trouble the whole game. The Bengals continue to plummet as they get smacked against the Vikings and they can very much continue to lose with their star quarterback Joe Burrow out for the near future til at least December. Does Cincinnati make a quarterback change soon?

26. Panthers: Bryce Young improving this year was something that I had predicted but I did not expect a 30 point blowout against a divisional opponent being the Atlanta Falcons. Bryce Young completed the day with 0 passing touchdowns but he did not turn the ball over once. The Panthers avoid being winless but their young squad needing more to prove allows me to still have them this low on the list. I see many positives with rookie receiver Tetairoa McMillan as he continues to show out every week so far this season. It is still early for the Panthers but as I said before, I expect a bounce back year for at least Bryce Young.

27. Browns: The Browns Defense as I said before showed up big. They proved again in a low scoring game that they can make the game interesting with veteran quarterback Joe Flacco still leading the show. Though for me this is a situation of a really mediocre offense with a stellar defense for the Browns yet again. I think for this squad their success rides on their quarterback. At this rate though, can the quarterback even produce enough points to compete? Winning is winning however in this league and they take down one of the league’s tops this year in defeating the Green Bay Packers.

28. Dolphins: Head Coach Mike Mcdaniels arguably coached the most perfect game he could in a divisional opponent against the Bills. The theme however of them losing against the Afc East leaders was the same. In a closer game than we had expected, the Dolphins still came up short. Remaining one of the few to still be winless at 0-3, I expect this week against the New York Jets on a Monday night primetime slot to be quite entertaining as both teams are looking for their first win of the season.

29. Giants: The New York Giants now have made a Quarterback change after dropping a primetime game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Whether you want to argue that they should have waited another week for rookie quarterback Jaxon Dart to face a much easier opponent in the Saints, he starts against the Chargers this upcoming week. For head coach Brian Daboll he gives the fans what they want and he benches veteran quarterback Rusell Wilson, who has seemed to not work out for yet another squad. Tyrone Tracey jr. is a big loss for them as he suffered an injury in the contest but could this be a new offense we are looking at with a new sheriff at the helm?

30. Jets: The Jets lose their second game this year by 2 points and frustrating for them is not even the words. I thought backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor in the second half emerged, but with lots of penalties on the opponents side of the field it helped the Jets stay longer in this game than they should have. There is much more to be desired with this defense, as 3 weeks into the season they look completely different after their defensive captain in retired Cj mosley is not with the squad anymore. As I mentioned with the Dolphins entry previously I believe the Monday night showdown between two divisional opponents can be an opportunity obviously for not only both teams to get their first win, but to find an identity and that is exactly what the Jets need right now.

31. Titans: Tennessee’s game tickets have been super cheap this year and for good reason. They drop a big one to the Colts and the growing pains of rookie quarterback Cam Ward continue. Though the positive for me on their squad is still their sneaky defense and the fact that they have picked the right rookie in Cam Ward because I have liked what I’ve seen from him thus far but it has not been enough. With the offensive line still continuing to struggle it does not make it any easier for a rookie quarterback suffering rookie growing pains. Another two winless team matchup takes place however in Houston with Tennessee coming to town this week

32. Saints: The Saints easily for me still look like the league’s weakest link and quarterback Spencer Rattler drops another one against the Seahawks. I still think that Rattler is showing that he is a lot better of a quarterback than people think but this Saints squad still looks lost. Head Coach Kellen Moore needs to figure out something quick before this locker room quits. I find that unlikely because of Moore’s character but the word winning and the Saints do not seem to be in cahoots. Running back Alvin Kamara finished with less than 100 yards on the day and the offense as a whole did not look good. Playing in Seattle however is still no easy feat for any team.
