The New York Jets end their season at 3-14 after a very disappointing season. The Jets came into the season with some hope with new QB Justin Fields and new head coach Aaron Glenn. Despite a loss in Week 1, they showed a lot of potential, but after that game, that’s when everything went downhill. First, injuries started to affect the team earlier on in the season, and then Justin Fields got benched. The game after he got benched, he came back and got the Jets their first win of the season, and some of the fans started to get their hopes back. After that, Jets fans would get the most shocking news they thought they would never hear. The Jets traded Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts and Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys. They got three first-round picks and one second round pick in return. This was one of the biggest moves of the season, and although they traded two of their best defensive players, the future is very bright for the Jets depending on how the draft goes.

The 2026 NFL Draft is filled with many talented players: Fernando Mendoza, Carnell Tate, Caleb Downs, Jeremiah Love, and possibly Dante Moore. With all the first-round picks the Jets got, they must get every one of their picks right, starting at the QB position. Obviously Fields didn’t work out with the Jets, so they are going to look at who they can get in the 1st round of this upcoming draft. The Jets got the 2nd overall pick and the 16th overall pick from the Sauce Gardner trade with the Colts. Fernando Mendoza is projected to be the first overall pick, so the Jets are currently looking at other options. Dante Moore hasn’t declared for the draft yet, but Ty Simpson and Trinidad Chambliss have declared for the draft. Although these two aren’t projected to be the 2nd overall pick, the Jets can select either one of them at the 16th overall pick or the 33rd overall pick.

I was able to interview Jets fan justin_megna24 on instagram about his thoughts on the Jets season and what they need to do to improve. He started by saying, “Our weakness was QB. Although we didn’t have that many weapons for the QB, it was clear the team needed a new QB.” I also asked what are some key moves the Jets have to do going into the offseason, and he said, “Getting all the new hires right. We had one of the worst defenses in the league, so we have to hire the best defensive coordinator.” Finally, I asked him, “What is one player that you’re excited to see next season?” His response was, “Mason Taylor, he was one of our bright spots on the team last season. I seen him getting better and better every game, and he’ll play a huge role in the team’s success next season.”
The New York Jets are going into with 10 draft picks, and are looking to get every single draft pick right to complete their rebuild. Lets go Jets!
