Neil Hartman started of the event with a group selfie for the students with Charles Barkley. Then invited both the women and men’s basketball team to take pictures with Barkley on stage which was awesome to see. After that, Hartman did a q and a with Charles before opening it to their students for questions. There was in depth questions and answers as Barkley explained everything in detail. All the sports communications students had well prepared questions for him which is big for an event like this. Charles was great with them taking the time to answer and having fun.

A Philly native went from watching the Sixers on TV to working with them for over 40 years. He started out as just a ball boy in 1977 to being the Executive Director of Team Logistics. Neil Hartman is the Director for the Center for Sports Communication and Social Impact at Rowan University and CEO and Executive Producer for Talow Media Group. He also is a director at Play By Play Sports Broadcasting Camps. He is also a Emmy Award winner in his legendary career, now helping the students at Rowan University and bringing in some impactful/amazing sports figures to speak to them. A graduate of Ithaca College, Hartman has worked in sports media for more than 30 years. Prior to establishing his sports production company Talow Media Group, he spent nearly two decades as the main news anchor for Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia.

He was also a sports anchor at CBS3 and WPHL-TV and hosted his own radio shows on sports radio WIP. Charles Wade Barkley (born February 20, 1963) is an American former professional basketball player who is a television analyst on TNT and CBS Sports. Nicknamed “Sir Charles”, “the Bread Truck”, and “the Round Mound of Rebound”, Barkley played 16 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Though shorter than the typical power forward, he used his strength and aggression to become one of the NBA’s best rebounders and scorers. Barkley was an 11-time NBA All-Star, 11-time member of the All-NBA Team, and the 1993 NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP). He was named to the NBA’s 50th and 75th anniversary teams.
