If you thought the Mets had already hit rock bottom, congratulations — they just found a shovel, dug deeper, and hit a gas line. The New York Mets just watched Pete Alonso AND Edwin Díaz walk out the door like they were escaping a group therapy session run by David Stearns.

And ladies and gentlemen, I present to you:
THE MOST METS WEEK IN THE HISTORY OF METS WEEKS.

Let’s take the flamethrower of humor and aim it directly at this baseball blimp fire.

Pete Alonso — the face of the franchise, the heart of the clubhouse, the guy whose home runs powered Citi Field more reliably than Con Edison — is gone.
To Baltimore.
Not the Yankees.
Not the Dodgers.
Not even a team with a retractable roof.

THE ORIOLES.
A team whose mascot looks like a TikTok bird filter gone wrong.

Five years. $150M.
And the Mets responded with the classic front-office move:

“We’ll circle back.”

Pete walked into negotiations expecting a contract.
He walked out with a pamphlet on Citi Bike memberships.

Stearns basically told him:
“Look Pete… we love you.
But have you considered… not being paid?”

Díaz didn’t just leave.
He sped to the Dodgers like he was being chased by the ghost of blown saves past.

LA said, “How much?”
The Mets said, “How about vibes instead?”
Imagine the negotiation call:

Díaz: “Do you want to offer me anything before I sign with LA?”
Stearns: “Is exposure good? We can offer exposure.”
Uncle Stevie: “Sorry, I’m saving up for a celebrity golf tournament.”

Now the Dodgers get trumpet performances featuring Snoop Dogg, Billie Eilish, and half the cast of Fast & Furious 12.
Mets fans get… the sound of silence.
And crying.
Mostly crying.

At this point, calling David Stearns a GM is like calling a squirrel a financial advisor.
He talks. He means well.
But he’s storing acorns while everyone else is counting money.

How does a man with a billionaire owner lose:

The team’s best slugger

The team’s only elite closer

The entire fanbase

And possibly his parking spot

ALL IN ONE OFFSEASON?!

The Mets hired a “brilliant baseball mind.”
So far he’s:

Misplaced the face of the franchise

Gifted the Dodgers a trumpet god

Turned Uncle Stevie into a more stressed version of Mr. Monopoly

At this point Stearns’ plan is so mysterious it should be on the History Channel narrated by aliens.

Let’s talk solutions — Mets style.
✔ Sell Citi Field
Turn it into a Chick-fil-A. At least fans will finally get something good on Sundays.

✔ Replace Alonso with a cardboard cutout
Cheaper. More durable. Won’t strike out on sliders low and away.

✔ Rename the team “The Amazin’ Missing Pieces”
Accurate. Painfully accurate.

✔ Sell naming rights of the stadium to Spirit Airlines
Because nothing says “expect disappointment” like Spirit.

✔ Bring Bartolo Colon back
Not as a player.
As the GM.
He can’t possibly do worse.

Mets fans deserve better than being the annual circus attraction of Major League Baseball.

Pete Alonso should’ve been locked up.
Edwin Díaz should STILL be playing trumpets in Queens.
And David Stearns should be explaining himself like he’s on trial for baseball malpractice.

Uncle Stevie has more money than God —
Yet somehow the Mets still act like they’re shopping at Dollar Tree.

And with that…
Welcome to METSGEDDON.

My name is Errol Marks and I’d like to tell you why I believe I can be a major asset to your station. I’m from a small town in Long Island, NY and from a very young age I’ve always had a love for sports talk radio. Growing up, I would listen religiously to shows like Mike and the Mad Dog, Mike and Mike, and Imus in the Morning and studied what made those shows so great. I’ve made it my goal to be as influential as the hosts I grew up listening to, and with my knowledge of all major sports, enthusiastic and fearless personality, and my preparation skills, I know I can get to that level. This is an art and a medium that I’m passionate about and one that I feel can never be replaced.

What makes my story so unique goes beyond my 10+ years of experience in sports media. In addition to over ten years of creating and hosting sports talk radio shows, I created the World Wide Sports Radio Network - one of the first ever digital sports radio networks - in 2012. Since the network began, we have had some of the best content in digital sports media. We have six quality shows on our network covering all sports and sports betting. I’m currently hosting New York’s Sports Loud Mouth, and you can find that show and the rest of our great shows at https://worldwidesportsradio.com/.

Our network’s content and listenership has grown significantly year to year and, in the past year, we’ve achieved 3.6 million minutes listened on our audio stream, over 29k followers on tik tok, 500k viewed on YouTube, 1.7 million downloads on Apple Podcasts, and 906,917 plays on Spotify. While we are enjoying a continued increase in growth, I feel that we can take this to a new level and a new audience with your help.

My goal since the day I started is to become the greatest and most recognizable sports radio show host in the country. I can guarantee that nobody in this industry currently has my passion, personality or ability to shape the future of sports broadcasting and entertainment like I do. If given the opportunity, I hope to further share my story and many talents with you and your station.
