The Golden State Warriors apparently looked at their roster this offseason and said, “You know what we’re missing? More Hall of Famers collecting AARP discounts.”
According to reports, Golden State is dreaming about pulling off the basketball version of Ocean’s Eleven—except everyone’s knees make more noise than the sneakers.
The rumor? Trade for Anthony Davis. Sign LeBron James. Keep Stephen Curry. Throw Jimmy Butler into the deal and hope Washington accidentally answers the phone while half asleep.
Now first of all…
Can we stop acting surprised?
I said this before.
Wherever LeBron goes, Anthony Davis usually isn’t too far behind. They’re basically the NBA version of Batman and Robin… except Robin is always on the injury report.
Imagine the Warriors’ front office.
“Steph’s getting older.”
“Draymond’s getting older.”
“What should we do?”

“I got it… let’s add LeBron, who’s pushing 42, and Anthony Davis, who can sprain an ankle watching Netflix.”
Brilliant.
Now don’t get me wrong.
If everybody is healthy…
GOOD LUCK.
Steph Curry stretching defenses from the parking lot.
LeBron James still throwing laser passes like he’s got cheat codes.
Anthony Davis protecting the rim when he’s actually on the court.
That sounds terrifying…
…for the six games they’ll all be healthy together.
Then comes reality.
Washington actually has to WANT Jimmy Butler.
Jimmy is coming off a torn ACL, he’s 36 years old, and the Wizards just drafted AJ Dybantsa to be the future of the franchise.
Trading for Butler right now would be like buying a used Ferrari with 240,000 miles because somebody promised, “It still starts most mornings.”
Then there’s Anthony Davis.
Washington has hinted they’d actually like to keep him and even discuss an extension.
So unless the Warriors have Jedi mind tricks hidden in the front office…
“These ARE the draft picks you’re looking for.”
…this deal isn’t exactly easy.
And let’s not forget the salary cap.
Golden State is trying to fit these contracts together like somebody trying to close an overstuffed suitcase before a vacation.
Push…
Sit on it…
Zip…
Nope… LeBron’s salary is sticking out again.
Somehow they’d have to keep Draymond Green, potentially re-sign Kristaps Porziņģis, add LeBron, trade for AD, fill out the rest of the roster and still convince the NBA salary cap that none of this is suspicious.
Good luck with that.
Now here’s where I actually love the rumor.
Because this is EXACTLY what the Warriors do.
Remember when nobody thought Kevin Durant would leave Oklahoma City after Golden State beat him?
Then BOOM.
He was wearing a Warriors jersey before Thunder fans even finished crying.

So if there’s one organization crazy enough to try this…
It’s Golden State.
Will it happen?
Probably not.
Could it happen?
Never say never.
I’ve learned one thing covering sports…
If LeBron starts house shopping, Anthony Davis usually isn’t far behind carrying the moving boxes.
And if this somehow becomes reality…
Forget calling them the Warriors.
Just call them The Golden State Avengers…
…or maybe…
The Golden State “Please Ice Your Knees Before Tip-Off” Warriors.
Either way, if this superteam actually happens, the NBA won’t know whether it’s watching a championship contender…
…or the greatest reunion tour since the Rolling Stones.

My name is Errol Marks and I’d like to tell you why I believe I can be a major asset to your station. I’m from a small town in Long Island, NY and from a very young age I’ve always had a love for sports talk radio. Growing up, I would listen religiously to shows like Mike and the Mad Dog, Mike and Mike, and Imus in the Morning and studied what made those shows so great. I’ve made it my goal to be as influential as the hosts I grew up listening to, and with my knowledge of all major sports, enthusiastic and fearless personality, and my preparation skills, I know I can get to that level. This is an art and a medium that I’m passionate about and one that I feel can never be replaced.
What makes my story so unique goes beyond my 10+ years of experience in sports media. In addition to over ten years of creating and hosting sports talk radio shows, I created the World Wide Sports Radio Network - one of the first ever digital sports radio networks - in 2012. Since the network began, we have had some of the best content in digital sports media. We have six quality shows on our network covering all sports and sports betting. I’m currently hosting New York’s Sports Loud Mouth, and you can find that show and the rest of our great shows at https://worldwidesportsradio.com/.
Our network’s content and listenership has grown significantly year to year and, in the past year, we’ve achieved 3.6 million minutes listened on our audio stream, over 29k followers on tik tok, 500k viewed on YouTube, 1.7 million downloads on Apple Podcasts, and 906,917 plays on Spotify. While we are enjoying a continued increase in growth, I feel that we can take this to a new level and a new audience with your help.
My goal since the day I started is to become the greatest and most recognizable sports radio show host in the country. I can guarantee that nobody in this industry currently has my passion, personality or ability to shape the future of sports broadcasting and entertainment like I do. If given the opportunity, I hope to further share my story and many talents with you and your station.
