So… the New York Knicks had Game 2 in their hands.
Not “kind of had it.”
Not “we’ll see what happens.”
HAD IT.
Like “food is on the table, fork in hand, about to eat”… and somehow they still found a way to starve.
And now? The Atlanta Hawks walk out of Madison Square Garden with a 107-106 win, the series tied 1-1, and Knicks fans questioning every life decision that led them to this moment.
Act 1: “Oh wow… they’re actually doing this”
The Knicks came out looking like a team that understood the assignment.
- Ball moving ✔️
- Defense active ✔️
- Crowd at MSG LOUD ✔️
They built a 14-point lead, had control late, and with about five minutes left you could already hear fans mentally booking flights for Round 2.
At 100-92, it felt like:
“Alright, Knicks up 2-0, let’s go home.”
HAHAHAHAHAHA.
You must be new here.
Act 2: The “What Are We Doing???” Quarter
The 4th quarter hit, and the Knicks offense turned into a group chat where nobody answers.
- Bad shots
- No ball movement
- Possessions ending like “eh, good enough”
Meanwhile, Atlanta said:
“Oh… y’all done playing? Cool, our turn.”
Enter: The Villain Nobody Ordered
CJ McCollum
This man walked into MSG like he had a reservation.
- 32 points
- Big shot after big shot
- Hits the go-ahead bucket with 33 seconds left
He didn’t just beat the Knicks…
He emotionally audited them.
The Run That Broke Everyone’s Spirit
Atlanta closed the game on a 15-6 run and went 11-0 at one point like they were playing 2K on rookie mode.
Meanwhile the Knicks:
- Shot 22.7% in the 4th quarter (that’s not offense, that’s a cry for help)
- Let Atlanta shoot 72.2% (basically layup lines at MSG… premium experience)
This wasn’t a comeback.
This was a heist.
Knicks Stars: Hot… Then Ice Cold Like They Saw a Ghost
Jalen Brunson
- 29 points
- Took a ton of shots (10-for-26)
- Hit a clutch three late… tried to save the day
But by then the house was already on fire.
Karl-Anthony Towns
- Looked good early
- Then disappeared like he got called out of class
Knicks needed him late and got:
“Seen at 7:43 PM.”
Josh Hart
- 15 points, 13 rebounds
- The only dude playing like rent was due
Respect. He showed up.
Somebody had to.
The Ending: Comedy Meets Tragedy
- Hawks up 107-103
- Brunson hits a three → 107-106
- McCollum misses TWO free throws (basketball gods like “we tried to help you”)
Final play…
Ball goes to Mikal Bridges…
Shot goes up…
MISS.
Game over.
MSG went from:
“LET’S GOOOOO!!!”
to
“…oh.”
in about half a second.
What This Means a.k.a. Reality Check Time
- Series tied 1-1
- Knicks just gift-wrapped home-court advantage
- Hawks now walking into Atlanta like:
“Yeah… we can beat these dudes”
And the worst part?
They’re right.
Heading to Atlanta: Good Luck Everybody
Now the series shifts to Atlanta where:
- The crowd is loud
- The Hawks have momentum
- And the Knicks just proved they can self-destruct at any moment
This went from:
“Knicks in control”
to
“Oh… this might turn into a problem real fast.”
This wasn’t just a loss.
This was:
- A meltdown
- A collapse
- A “did they forget the game was 48 minutes?” performance
You had the lead.
You had the moment.
You had MSG rocking.
And then…
You let CJ McCollum come into your house, take your food, miss free throws, STILL win, and walk out smiling.
That’s not just painful.
That’s Knicks basketball.
Series tied 1-1.
Next stop: Atlanta.

Oh… buckle up. This series just turned into pure chaos.

I’m from a small town in Long Island, NY and from a very young age I’ve always had a love for sports talk radio. Growing up, I would listen religiously to shows like Mike and the Mad Dog, Mike and Mike, and Imus in the Morning and studied what made those shows so great. I’ve made it my goal to be as influential as the hosts I grew up listening to, and with my knowledge of all major sports, enthusiastic and fearless personality, and my preparation skills, I know I can get to that level. This is an art and a medium that I’m passionate about and one that I feel can never be replaced.
What makes my story so unique goes beyond my 10+ years of experience in sports media. In addition to over ten years of creating and hosting sports talk radio shows, I created the World Wide Sports Radio Network - one of the first ever digital sports radio networks - in 2012. Since the network began, we have had some of the best content in digital sports media. We have six quality shows on our network covering all sports and sports betting. Our network’s content and listenership has grown significantly year to year and, in the past year, we’ve achieved 3.6 million minutes listened on our audio stream, over 29k followers on tik tok, 500k viewed on YouTube, 1.7 million downloads on Apple Podcasts, and 906,917 plays on Spotify. While we are enjoying a continued increase in growth, I feel that we can take this to a new level and a new audience with your help.
My goal since the day I started is to become the greatest and most recognizable sports radio show host in the country. I can guarantee that nobody in this industry currently has my passion, personality or ability to shape the future of sports broadcasting and entertainment like I do.
