The Houston Rockets are down 0-3 to the Lakers, and at this point Kevin Durant has been harder to find than his old burner accounts.

Houston lost 112-108 in overtime Friday night after somehow blowing a 6-point lead with 25 seconds left—which is honestly impressive in the same way driving your car into your own mailbox is impressive.

But let’s address the seven-foot elephant not in the room:

Where the hell is Kevin Durant?

KD missed two of the first three playoff games in this series with knee/ankle issues, and while yes—injuries are real, pain is real, and nobody is asking him to play with one leg like Willis Reed…

Brother, this is the playoffs.

You’re telling me Kevin Durant—one of the greatest scorers in NBA history—can’t give Houston 20 minutes of “old man at LA Fitness” basketball?
Can’t stand in the corner and shoot jumpers?
Can’t hobble out there at 70 percent and remind the Lakers someone besides Sengun exists?

Because right now the Rockets are fighting for their lives with their superstar in witness protection.

And don’t give me the “they’re protecting him for the future” nonsense.

Future?!
Kevin Durant is 37 years old.
This isn’t a rookie they’re preserving for 2034.

The Rockets didn’t bring him in to be a luxury suite decoration in April.

They brought him here for moments exactly like this.

Instead?

KD is in warmups… out of uniform… apparently not even on the bench for stretches of the night while Houston gets sent to basketball hell.

That’s not leadership.
That’s a hostage situation with sneakers.

Meanwhile, The Rockets Actually Had This Game Won… Until They Became The Rockets

Houston was up 6 with 25.4 seconds left.

Game over, right?

Wrong.

Because the Rockets transformed into a YMCA team that just met in the parking lot.

They committed brutal late mistakes, turned the ball over, and then watched LeBron James hit a game-tying three like he was filming Space Jam 3: Geriatric Vengeance.

Then in overtime?

They folded faster than a cheap lawn chair.

Alperen Sengun Deserved Better

Lost in the disaster was Alperen Sengun dropping 33 points and 16 rebounds trying to drag Houston to victory like a man pulling a pickup truck with his teeth.

And for what?

To look over and see his co-star in designer street clothes.

That man put up an all-time playoff effort just for KD to contribute the same amount of points as me from my couch.

No one is saying Durant should risk a catastrophic injury.

But when your team is in a playoff war, down in the series, and your teammates are dying out there?

Sometimes your franchise guy has to gut it out.

Because right now?

It looks like Houston traded for Kevin Durant and got “Part-Time Passion KD.”

The Rockets are one loss away from a sweep.
No team in NBA history has come back from 0-3.

So unless Durant returns looking like 2017 Finals KD…

This experiment is about to end with Houston fans asking the same question:

Did Kevin Durant come to compete… or just update his LinkedIn?
