Kawhi Leonard has officially entered the sponsorship game — and apparently, this man’s endorsement portfolio has more plot twists than a Netflix series.
According to a report from Pablo Torre, Kawhi allegedly had an undisclosed sponsorship agreement worth millions of dollars with Daktronics, the company responsible for designing the giant Halo Board inside the Clippers’ Intuit Dome.
Now, let me make sure I understand this correctly.
The company that built the gigantic video board inside the Clippers’ arena allegedly had a sponsorship deal with Kawhi.
THE VIDEO BOARD?!

What’s next?
“Kawhi Leonard proudly sponsored by the arena bathroom hand dryers.”
“Brought to you by Section 214.”
“Your halftime nachos are brought to you by Kawhi Leonard Enterprises.”
But here’s where this story goes from funny to WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON IN LOS ANGELES?
Torre reportedly spoke with an anonymous high-level source connected to Intuit Dome who claimed the sponsorship agreement was essentially a way to get around the NBA salary cap, alleging that money was being funneled from the Clippers through Daktronics and eventually back to Kawhi.
Now, before everybody starts throwing Clippers jerseys into the fireplace, let’s be clear:
THAT IS AN ALLEGATION.
The NBA is investigating. The Clippers have denied funneling money to Leonard through sponsorship arrangements.
But you know what the NBA salary cap is probably thinking right now?
“Guys… I’m literally standing right here.”
This entire situation has now turned into Follow the Money: NBA Edition.
First, we had Aspiration.
The Clippers signed a reported 23-year, $300 million partnership with Aspiration in 2021.
Then, six months later, Kawhi reportedly received a $28 million sponsorship deal from Aspiration.

And now we’re hearing about another alleged sponsorship arrangement involving Daktronics — the company behind the giant video board.
At this point, I don’t know whether Kawhi Leonard is a basketball player or the CEO of Kawhi Leonard Incorporated.
And here’s the part that makes this whole thing even crazier.
Clippers owner Steve Ballmer reportedly invested tens of millions of dollars of his own money into Aspiration.
Ballmer has said he ultimately lost the entire investment and claimed he was “flagrantly defrauded.”
Meanwhile, Aspiration co-founder Joseph Sanberg was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for his role in a scheme that defrauded investors and lenders of hundreds of millions of dollars.
So somewhere, Steve Ballmer is probably sitting there thinking:
“WAIT… I LOST $60 MILLION AND KAWHI GOT A SPONSORSHIP DEAL?!”
And Kawhi?
Kawhi is probably sitting in his house completely emotionless.
No reaction.
No facial expression.
Just:
“I don’t know.”
That’s it.
The man could be sitting in the middle of the biggest NBA investigation in years and look like somebody just asked him if he wants fries with his burger.
Now, here’s the BIG question for the NBA:
Were these legitimate sponsorship deals, or were they disguised payments designed to get around the salary cap?
Because if the NBA determines that money was deliberately routed through outside companies to compensate Kawhi beyond what the Clippers were allowed to pay him, we could be looking at a massive problem for the organization.
And if nothing illegal happened?
Then congratulations to Kawhi Leonard.
Because apparently this man has discovered the greatest sponsorship strategy in sports history:
“IF THE SALARY CAP WON’T PAY ME… FIND SOMEBODY WHO WILL.”
But seriously, this investigation could get VERY ugly for the Clippers.
The NBA is already digging into the Aspiration arrangement, and now another alleged endorsement deal has surfaced.
And when the league starts finding MORE deals after already investigating ONE deal, that’s usually when you start hearing the ominous music.
🎵 DUN… DUN… DUN… 🎵
So Clippers fans, buckle up.
Because this isn’t just basketball anymore.
This is THE ACCOUNTING FINALS.
Forget Lakers vs. Clippers.
Forget Warriors vs. Clippers.
Forget Celtics vs. Clippers.
We’ve got:
KAWHI LEONARD VS. THE SALARY CAP.
And right now, the salary cap is sitting in the corner screaming:
“SOMEBODY CALL THE NBA!”
If the NBA proves the Clippers used sponsorship deals to funnel extra money to Kawhi Leonard, should the league hit the Clippers with MASSIVE penalties — or should Kawhi also face serious punishment?
Because if this thing is proven, the Clippers may have a lot more explaining to do than: “Hey Kawhi… nice sponsorship deal.”

My name is Errol Marks and I’d like to tell you why I believe I can be a major asset to your station. I’m from a small town in Long Island, NY and from a very young age I’ve always had a love for sports talk radio. Growing up, I would listen religiously to shows like Mike and the Mad Dog, Mike and Mike, and Imus in the Morning and studied what made those shows so great. I’ve made it my goal to be as influential as the hosts I grew up listening to, and with my knowledge of all major sports, enthusiastic and fearless personality, and my preparation skills, I know I can get to that level. This is an art and a medium that I’m passionate about and one that I feel can never be replaced.
What makes my story so unique goes beyond my 10+ years of experience in sports media. In addition to over ten years of creating and hosting sports talk radio shows, I created the World Wide Sports Radio Network - one of the first ever digital sports radio networks - in 2012. Since the network began, we have had some of the best content in digital sports media. We have six quality shows on our network covering all sports and sports betting. I’m currently hosting New York’s Sports Loud Mouth, and you can find that show and the rest of our great shows at https://worldwidesportsradio.com/.
Our network’s content and listenership has grown significantly year to year and, in the past year, we’ve achieved 3.6 million minutes listened on our audio stream, over 29k followers on tik tok, 500k viewed on YouTube, 1.7 million downloads on Apple Podcasts, and 906,917 plays on Spotify. While we are enjoying a continued increase in growth, I feel that we can take this to a new level and a new audience with your help.
My goal since the day I started is to become the greatest and most recognizable sports radio show host in the country. I can guarantee that nobody in this industry currently has my passion, personality or ability to shape the future of sports broadcasting and entertainment like I do. If given the opportunity, I hope to further share my story and many talents with you and your station.
