Baseball fans…
We did it.
We survived.
The Hall of Fame committee finally woke up from their 15-year nap at the voting wheel and realized:
“Wait… Jeff Kent was actually GOOD?”

YOU THINK?!
I’ve been screaming this since the Bush administration.

Jeff Kent, one of the greatest second basemen to ever exist — a man who hit baseballs like they personally insulted his family — is finally in Cooperstown. And all it took was:

  • 10 years of BBWAA voters ignoring math
  • A veterans committee built like a Kiwanis Club brunch
  • And me, Errol Marks, melting microphones on Joba and the Mouth every single winter

Let’s be honest.

This committee looks like the cast of The Golden Girls if they all wore baseball jackets.

These guys aren’t “voters.”
They’re the only people alive who still think a WHIP is something you use on a horse.

You ever see them talk baseball?

“Back in my day, we didn’t need WAR, OPS+, or statcast. We judged players by… uh… how firm their handshake was.”

Yeah?
Well Jeff Kent’s handshake could’ve knocked out a linebacker AND he hit more homers than any second baseman ever.
So maybe wake up and take the pudding cups out of your ears.

How do you look at a résumé like:

  • 377 Home Runs
  • MVP Winner
  • Top-3 all-time offensive 2B
  • 10 straight years of fear in every pitcher’s eyes
  • Facial hair that could intimidate a grizzly

…and go:

“Hmm… I dunno… he didn’t smile enough.”

SMILE?!
What, did you want him giggling around second base like he’s hosting a kid’s birthday party?

Jeff Kent wasn’t there for smiles.
Jeff Kent was there to blow up baseballs and break pitchers’ confidence like cheap lawn furniture.

I have been screaming “JEFF KENT IS A HALL OF FAMER!” for so long that I’ve outlasted:

  • Three commissioners
  • Six Marvel movie phases
  • Half the Yankees roster

Meanwhile the writers are sitting there like:

“Well… I voted for a guy who hit .271 with 18 homers in 1994 because he once bought me a sandwich.”

WHAT?!
This is the Hall of Fame, not the Hall of “Thanks for the Pastrami.”

These writers should have their voting rights suspended until they learn what OPS is and stop treating the ballot like a BuzzFeed quiz.

Yes, Jeff Kent is finally in.

Great.
Fantastic.

NOW DO THE REST.

A Yankee icon.
A baseball icon.
A mustache that deserves its own wing.

Albert Belle
One of the most feared hitters of the 90s.
Would’ve gotten 90% of the vote if he threatened to chase the committee with a bat. (Maybe he should.)

And those are just two of MANY.
There are so many deserving guys still waiting that Cooperstown is starting to look like the DMV.
Listen… respectfully…

WHAT.
TOOK.
YOU.
SO.
LONG.

Were you waiting for Kent to join an assisted-living softball league before you realized he was good?

Did someone leave his stats in the trunk of a car for 12 years?

Did you confuse him with Joey Kent, the Titans wide receiver from 1997?

I mean COME ON.

This was the easiest “yes” since the question “Do Mets fans suffer?”

Jeff Kent is finally where he belongs — on a plaque, in a museum, hopefully glaring at voters from beyond the bronze.

And me?
I’m not done.

Next mission:
MATTTINGLY.
BELLE.
EVERY OTHER GUY THE WRITERS LEFT IN A DITCH.

I’ll keep yelling.
I’ll keep roasting.
I’ll keep being the only sane person in the baseball universe.

Because on Joba and the Mouth…

We don’t need 16 geriatric voters to find baseball greatness.
We spot it immediately — and yell about it for 10 years straight.

My name is Errol Marks and I’d like to tell you why I believe I can be a major asset to your station. I’m from a small town in Long Island, NY and from a very young age I’ve always had a love for sports talk radio. Growing up, I would listen religiously to shows like Mike and the Mad Dog, Mike and Mike, and Imus in the Morning and studied what made those shows so great. I’ve made it my goal to be as influential as the hosts I grew up listening to, and with my knowledge of all major sports, enthusiastic and fearless personality, and my preparation skills, I know I can get to that level. This is an art and a medium that I’m passionate about and one that I feel can never be replaced.

What makes my story so unique goes beyond my 10+ years of experience in sports media. In addition to over ten years of creating and hosting sports talk radio shows, I created the World Wide Sports Radio Network - one of the first ever digital sports radio networks - in 2012. Since the network began, we have had some of the best content in digital sports media. We have six quality shows on our network covering all sports and sports betting. I’m currently hosting New York’s Sports Loud Mouth, and you can find that show and the rest of our great shows at https://worldwidesportsradio.com/.

Our network’s content and listenership has grown significantly year to year and, in the past year, we’ve achieved 3.6 million minutes listened on our audio stream, over 29k followers on tik tok, 500k viewed on YouTube, 1.7 million downloads on Apple Podcasts, and 906,917 plays on Spotify. While we are enjoying a continued increase in growth, I feel that we can take this to a new level and a new audience with your help.

My goal since the day I started is to become the greatest and most recognizable sports radio show host in the country. I can guarantee that nobody in this industry currently has my passion, personality or ability to shape the future of sports broadcasting and entertainment like I do. If given the opportunity, I hope to further share my story and many talents with you and your station.
