Giants fans, I have a question.
What the hell are we doing over there?
The New York Giants just extended backup quarterback Jameis Winston through the 2028 season on a two-year, $13 million deal.
Yes, Jameis Winston.
Mr. Crab Legs himself.
The man who has somehow gone from being the No. 1 overall pick to NFL starter, to backup quarterback, to locker-room leader, to World Cup correspondent, to Fox pregame personality — and now apparently a permanent resident of East Rutherford.
At this point, Jameis has more jobs than people in New York City.
And I’m not mad about it.
Actually, I kind of love it.
Because let’s be honest: Jameis Winston is entertaining as hell.
You never know what you’re going to get with this man.
You could ask Jameis what time practice starts and somehow 45 seconds later he’s giving you a motivational speech about overcoming adversity, eating crab legs, believing in yourself and possibly solving world peace.
And now the Giants have decided:
“Yep. We need this guy around until 2028.”
I can’t even argue with it.
Winston is making just over $4 million this season, and now he’s getting two more years added to his contract.
He’s going to back up Jaxson Dart, who the Giants are hoping becomes their franchise quarterback.

And honestly, I understand the move.
Dart plays football like he owes somebody money.
The kid is physical, aggressive and doesn’t exactly treat his body like it’s covered under an extended warranty.
He already missed two games last season with a concussion.
So the Giants apparently looked at the situation and said:
“You know what we need? A veteran quarterback who can step in when Dart decides to use his helmet as a battering ram.”
Enter Jameis Winston.
And here’s the thing — Jameis can actually play.
Last season, Winston started two games and appeared in three. He completed 56.1% of his passes for 567 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.
And, because this is Jameis Winston we’re talking about, he also caught a touchdown.
Of course he did.
Most quarterbacks throw touchdowns.
Jameis apparently looked at the offense and said:
“Everybody’s covered? Fine. I’ll do it myself.”
That’s Jameis.
He’s also become one of the veteran leaders in that locker room.
Tyrone Tracy Jr. has talked about how much Winston helps everybody — second team, third team and even the starters.
And Jaxson Dart has reportedly embraced having Winston around.
That’s actually important.
Because if Dart is going to be the franchise guy, having a veteran quarterback who can help him through the ups and downs of an NFL season is valuable.
Especially when your quarterback plays like he’s trying to win the Super Bowl and the WWE Championship on the same Sunday.
And let’s not forget — Jameis has started 89 NFL games.
He’s thrown for nearly 25,000 yards, 156 touchdowns and 113 interceptions during his career.
He’s been through everything.
Good teams.
Bad teams.
Good games.
Bad games.
And enough interceptions to make defensive coordinators send him Christmas cards.
But that’s also why I like this move.
The Giants aren’t paying Jameis because they think he’s the next Patrick Mahomes.
They’re paying him because they believe he’s a reliable veteran who can step into a game, run the offense and keep the locker room together if something happens to Dart.
And considering the Giants went 4–13 last season, I’m perfectly fine with them adding some stability.
Now the Giants also extended guard Jon Runyan on a two-year, $22 million deal with $21.5 million guaranteed.
That’s actually a really important move.
Runyan is their starting left guard, and the Giants are trying to build some continuity on that offensive line.
New York returns four starters.
That’s something Giants fans haven’t been able to say enough over the last few years.
Maybe — just maybe — we’re finally going to see an offensive line that doesn’t look like five guys who met in the parking lot 15 minutes before kickoff.
And now you’ve got Jameis behind Dart.
You’ve got stability on the offensive line.
You’ve got John Harbaugh coming in trying to turn this entire operation around.

And you’ve got Giants fans sitting here wondering:
“Are we actually building something… or are we just getting really good at extending people before we figure out what the hell we’re doing?”
Because that’s the Giants.
One minute we’re talking about rebuilding.
The next minute we’re handing out extensions.
And somehow Mr. Crab Legs is now under contract through 2028.
I don’t know whether to laugh, cry or order seafood.
But I’ll tell you this:
If Jaxson Dart gets hurt, Giants fans better not panic.
Because Jameis Winston is sitting right there.
And if things go completely sideways, at least we know one thing:
The postgame press conference is going to be must-see television.
Jameis will probably throw three interceptions, win the game 17–14, catch the game-winning touchdown, give a 12-minute speech about leadership and then somehow leave the stadium with a bag of crab legs.
That’s Jameis Winston.
And apparently, that’s our guy until 2028.
Giants fans…
Mr. Crab Legs ain’t going anywhere.
And honestly?
I’m starting to think that’s a good thing.

My name is Errol Marks and I’d like to tell you why I believe I can be a major asset to your station. I’m from a small town in Long Island, NY and from a very young age I’ve always had a love for sports talk radio. Growing up, I would listen religiously to shows like Mike and the Mad Dog, Mike and Mike, and Imus in the Morning and studied what made those shows so great. I’ve made it my goal to be as influential as the hosts I grew up listening to, and with my knowledge of all major sports, enthusiastic and fearless personality, and my preparation skills, I know I can get to that level. This is an art and a medium that I’m passionate about and one that I feel can never be replaced.
What makes my story so unique goes beyond my 10+ years of experience in sports media. In addition to over ten years of creating and hosting sports talk radio shows, I created the World Wide Sports Radio Network - one of the first ever digital sports radio networks - in 2012. Since the network began, we have had some of the best content in digital sports media. We have six quality shows on our network covering all sports and sports betting. I’m currently hosting New York’s Sports Loud Mouth, and you can find that show and the rest of our great shows at https://worldwidesportsradio.com/.
Our network’s content and listenership has grown significantly year to year and, in the past year, we’ve achieved 3.6 million minutes listened on our audio stream, over 29k followers on tik tok, 500k viewed on YouTube, 1.7 million downloads on Apple Podcasts, and 906,917 plays on Spotify. While we are enjoying a continued increase in growth, I feel that we can take this to a new level and a new audience with your help.
My goal since the day I started is to become the greatest and most recognizable sports radio show host in the country. I can guarantee that nobody in this industry currently has my passion, personality or ability to shape the future of sports broadcasting and entertainment like I do. If given the opportunity, I hope to further share my story and many talents with you and your station.
