SAM DARNOLD JUST SENT THE JETS TO THERAPY (AGAIN)
Jets fans… sit down. Grab a drink. Maybe two. Maybe call your cardiologist.
Because Sam Darnold is Super Bowl–bound.
Yes. That Sam Darnold.
The one we ruined.

Darnold didn’t just beat the Rams — he outplayed a possible league MVP on the biggest stage outside the Super Bowl. Cool. Casual. Like a guy who’s been here before. Like a guy who finally has adults running the organization.
Because this part? This is personal.
The Jets drafted Sam Darnold third overall and for once — FOR ONCE — they actually got it right.
Big arm. Tough kid. Smart. Natural leader. Franchise quarterback written all over him.
And what did the Jets do?
- Threw him into the fire
- Gave him a broken offensive line
- Rotated receivers like a scratch-off ticket
- Hired Adam Gase, football’s answer to expired milk
- Then said: “Why isn’t this working?”
Sam didn’t fail the Jets.
The Jets failed Sam.
They rushed him. They panicked. They changed systems. They changed voices. They changed plans every five minutes like a drunk guy ordering at a diner.

Then Joe Douglas comes in.
Robert “Bambi” Saleh follows.
And instead of saying, “Let’s fix this and build around the kid we already invested in,” they said:
“Nah, let’s start over again.”
So they ship Sam off to Carolina for a couple of picks — because God forbid the Jets ever commit to development — and tell the fanbase, “Trust the process.”
Jets fans, THIS is the process.
Watching your former QB walk into the Super Bowl while you’re Googling mock drafts in January.
Not the Rams.
Not Stafford.
The Jets.
Because every throw Sam made Sunday was a reminder:
- This kid was always talented
- This kid was always tough
- This kid was always a franchise QB
He just needed:
- A real coach
- A real system
- Real protection
- And maybe not a fanbase booing him like he personally stole their car
Now Sam has had two straight strong playoff runs, looks confident, looks poised, and looks like a guy who might — might — be holding a Lombardi in a few weeks.
And Jets fans are left asking: “What if?”
What if they actually:
- Built the offensive line
- Got him weapons
- Didn’t let Adam Gase near him with a headset
- Trusted development instead of panic
Maybe — just maybe — the Jets’ 50+ year Super Bowl drought wouldn’t still be old enough to rent a car.
Fifteen years without the playoffs.
FIFTY YEARS without a Super Bowl.
And now we’re talking about “What’s next under Aaron Glenn?”
Cool. Another rebuild. Another quarterback carousel. Another season of “next year.”
Meanwhile, Sam Darnold was the guy.
And as a Jets fan, once again, I’m sitting here saying:
“They screwed it up.”
They didn’t ride or die with Sam.
They sucked for Sam — then quit on him.
On Sunday, February 8th – Super Bowl 60, I’ll be rooting for Sam Darnold.

If Sam wins?
Jets fans need to look in the mirror and ask:
- Was screaming for everyone to be fired the right move?
- Did we confuse impatience with accountability?
- Did we help push out a quarterback who just needed time?
Because Super Bowl 60 could’ve been us —
if we gave Sam Darnold the talent, patience, and coaching he deserved.
Sam Darnold didn’t see ghosts.
He saw bad coaching.
Bad management.
Bad protection.
And an organization that doesn’t believe in development.
Now he sees the Super Bowl.
And Jets fans?
We see another “what could’ve been.”
Congrats, Sam.
Go get that ring.
And Jets…

I’m from a small town in Long Island, NY and from a very young age I’ve always had a love for sports talk radio. Growing up, I would listen religiously to shows like Mike and the Mad Dog, Mike and Mike, and Imus in the Morning and studied what made those shows so great. I’ve made it my goal to be as influential as the hosts I grew up listening to, and with my knowledge of all major sports, enthusiastic and fearless personality, and my preparation skills, I know I can get to that level. This is an art and a medium that I’m passionate about and one that I feel can never be replaced.
What makes my story so unique goes beyond my 10+ years of experience in sports media. In addition to over ten years of creating and hosting sports talk radio shows, I created the World Wide Sports Radio Network - one of the first ever digital sports radio networks - in 2012. Since the network began, we have had some of the best content in digital sports media. We have six quality shows on our network covering all sports and sports betting.
