Let me get this straight…
The Eagles and Titans didn’t play a football game Sunday.
THEY PLAYED SURVIVOR: NASHVILLE EDITION.
Philadelphia beat Tennessee 24-20, but apparently the real opponent wasn’t the Titans.
IT WAS THE DAMN TURF!
We’re talking about a field that reportedly reached 157 DEGREES!
157!!!
At that point, you’re not playing football.
YOU’RE STANDING ON TOP OF A STOVE!
Players were complaining that their feet were burning, and Eagles offensive lineman Cam Jurgens said he went through multiple pairs of cleats because they were literally MELTING.
MULTIPLE PAIRS!
My man came into the stadium with football cleats and left looking like he needed STEEL-TOE BOOTS FROM HOME DEPOT!
Jurgens said halftime looked like a NASCAR pit crew was working on him to get ready for the second half.
I can see it now:
“QUICK! JACK THE FOOT UP!”
“CHANGE THE LEFT CLEAT!”
“GET SOME WATER!”
“WHO BROUGHT THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER?!”
And then there’s Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni.
This man didn’t even play ONE SNAP.
NOT ONE!
And he still needed an IV!
Sirianni basically said:
“I AIN’T EVEN ON THE FIELD AND THIS DAMN STADIUM GOT ME FIGHTING FOR MY LIFE!”
Meanwhile, the players are running around trying to win a football game while their shoes are turning into MELTED CHEESE.
Titans safety Amani Hooker said the midsoles of his cleats MELTED COMPLETELY OFF during Tennessee’s season opener against the Jets.
COMPLETELY OFF!
At this point, Nike needs to put a warning label on these things:
“DO NOT USE IN NASHVILLE BETWEEN 12 PM AND 4 PM.”
And apparently somebody from Tennessee was spraying water on the cleats to cool them down.
Forget football.
WELCOME TO CAR WASH SUNDAY!
“Would you like regular water or the deluxe package?”
The temperature at kickoff was around 95 degrees, with a heat index near 105.
And apparently the turf said:
“OH, YOU THINK THAT’S HOT?”
Then turned itself into 157 DEGREES OF PURE EVIL.

Jordan Mailata basically said enough is enough and used the situation to make his case for the NFL going back to grass fields.
And when your offensive lineman is saying the field is so hot that his feet are cooking, you might want to listen.
Mailata even said he rolled his ankle twice and wondered if the heat had softened the plastic on the bottom of his cleats.
Imagine having to worry about your football shoes becoming PLAY-DOH while you’re trying to block a 300-pound defensive lineman!
And here’s the crazy part…
The Eagles actually LEFT FOR NASHVILLE A DAY EARLY to try to prepare for the heat.
They even did a midday walkthrough Saturday to get used to the conditions.
That’s preparation.
That’s dedication.
That’s also when somebody should’ve looked at the turf and said:
“Y’ALL SURE THIS IS A FOOTBALL FIELD?”

Eagles tackle Lane Johnson, a 14-year veteran, called it one of the five toughest games he’s ever been part of.
And after hearing about the melting cleats, burning feet and the coach needing an IV…
I BELIEVE HIM!
This wasn’t Eagles vs. Titans.
This was:
EAGLES VS. THE SUN!
And somehow Philadelphia still walked out of there with the victory.
FINAL SCORE:
Eagles — 24
Titans — 20
Turf — 157°F
Everybody’s Feet — 0°F
The Eagles got the victory…
But somebody needs to check on those players’ shoes.
Because after Sunday, those cleats didn’t retire.
THEY GOT CREMATED!

My name is Errol Marks and I’d like to tell you why I believe I can be a major asset to your station. I’m from a small town in Long Island, NY and from a very young age I’ve always had a love for sports talk radio. Growing up, I would listen religiously to shows like Mike and the Mad Dog, Mike and Mike, and Imus in the Morning and studied what made those shows so great. I’ve made it my goal to be as influential as the hosts I grew up listening to, and with my knowledge of all major sports, enthusiastic and fearless personality, and my preparation skills, I know I can get to that level. This is an art and a medium that I’m passionate about and one that I feel can never be replaced.
What makes my story so unique goes beyond my 10+ years of experience in sports media. In addition to over ten years of creating and hosting sports talk radio shows, I created the World Wide Sports Radio Network - one of the first ever digital sports radio networks - in 2012. Since the network began, we have had some of the best content in digital sports media. We have six quality shows on our network covering all sports and sports betting. I’m currently hosting New York’s Sports Loud Mouth, and you can find that show and the rest of our great shows at https://worldwidesportsradio.com/.
Our network’s content and listenership has grown significantly year to year and, in the past year, we’ve achieved 3.6 million minutes listened on our audio stream, over 29k followers on tik tok, 500k viewed on YouTube, 1.7 million downloads on Apple Podcasts, and 906,917 plays on Spotify. While we are enjoying a continued increase in growth, I feel that we can take this to a new level and a new audience with your help.
My goal since the day I started is to become the greatest and most recognizable sports radio show host in the country. I can guarantee that nobody in this industry currently has my passion, personality or ability to shape the future of sports broadcasting and entertainment like I do. If given the opportunity, I hope to further share my story and many talents with you and your station.
