If there was ever a Hall of Fame for professional glazing, Dana White just punched his first-ballot ticket.
The UFC boss jumped on The Pivot Podcast and basically gave Conor McGregor a speech that sounded less like an interview and more like the best man at a wedding.
According to Dana, there will never be another Conor McGregor.
Easy, Dana. We get it. The man sold pay-per-views. You don’t have to build him a statue outside the octagon while he’s still walking around.
Now before the Conor Army storms my house, let’s be clear.
Conor McGregor changed the UFC forever.
The trash talk.
The swagger.
The double-champ moment.
The money fights.
The suits worth more than my mortgage.
Nobody is arguing that.
But Dana was talking about Conor like he personally invented oxygen.
Dana called him a “unicorn.”
At this point I’m surprised he didn’t say Conor discovered fire, cured the common cold, and taught Bruce Lee how to throw a left hand.
Then Dana dropped the classic…
“There will never be another Conor McGregor.”
Maybe.
Maybe not.
Sports has a funny way of creating the next superstar the minute someone says it can’t happen.
People once said there’d never be another Michael Jordan.
Then came LeBron.
They said there’d never be another Muhammad Ali.
Then came the next generation of megastars.
Nobody knows what the future holds.
The next kid training in some tiny gym right now might become an even bigger attraction.
Never say never.
Meanwhile, Conor’s comeback lasted about as long as a New Year’s resolution.
Sixty-nine seconds.
I’ve had microwave popcorn take longer.
The introductions felt longer than the actual fight.
Fans were still sitting down with their nachos when the main event was already over.
Some people blinked and missed the entire thing.
Others were still trying to log into Paramount+.
Then came the knee injury.
Talk about the worst luck imaginable.
Now Conor heads back to surgery and says he’ll return next summer.
Knowing Conor, he’ll probably announce the comeback wearing a $20,000 suit, arrive on a yacht, insult half the planet before the first press conference ends, and somehow still become the biggest headline in combat sports.
Because that’s what Conor does.
The interesting part comes after that.
He’s got one fight left on his UFC contract.
Translation?
Dana White is probably sleeping with one eye open and a calculator under his pillow.
The last thing the UFC wants is another promotion waving a truckload of cash at the biggest name MMA has ever produced.
So yes…
Conor McGregor is still a massive star.
One of the biggest ever.
No debate.
But Dana White talking about him like he’s the eighth wonder of the world?
Relax, Dana.
You’re the CEO.
Not the president of the Conor McGregor Fan Club.
Somewhere, Conor probably watched that interview and said…
“Even I think this is a little much.”

What makes my story so unique goes beyond my 10+ years of experience in sports media. In addition to over ten years of creating and hosting sports talk radio shows, I created the World Wide Sports Radio Network - one of the first ever digital sports radio networks - in 2012. Since the network began, we have had some of the best content in digital sports media. We have six quality shows on our network covering all sports and sports betting.
