This year Kevin Owens returned at SummerSlam after an injury after Doctors told him he would never get to compete again. Kevin Owens is now the #1 contender for Cm Punks WWE undisputed championship. Cm Punk has been champion for 39 days having one the title on july 6th defeating Sami Zayn on Raw. This is Cm punks third reign as champion as earlier in the year he also Held the championship for 169 days from November 1, 2025 to April 19th, 2026. Cm punk will defend the WWE undisputed championship against Kevin owns next Friday on an episode of smackdown. Kevin Owens and Cm punk’s rivalry is just heating up and is deeply personal as Cm punk and Kevin Owens don’t like each other. The Face to face confrontation on the Friday august 14th episode of smackdown was interesting and both competitors are Willing to go to great lengths to win. Kevin Owens has a chance to add to his accomplishments in WWE if he can beat Cm Punk. It would make sense if Kevin wins because he is wrestling in Toronto but I don’t think punk will go down to Owens and I would be surprised if he does. This match is highly anticipated to be a great fight.
