Man… where do I even start? I’m sitting in Montreal, Canada, at Gibbys steakhouse, minding my own business, enjoying a nice steak, scrolling through the playoffs on my phone… when disaster strikes. My data dies. Yup. Right before the final kick in overtime. So now I’m sitting there, steak in one hand, phone in the other, missing the final play that sent Josh Allen packing and maybe even Bo Nix packing for the season. Fantastic. Montreal, you hate me.
But let’s break this game down because holy hell, it was a playoff thriller for the ages.
Denver vs Buffalo was straight up rollercoaster football. The Bills jumped out early, Broncos fought back, and somehow we end up in overtime, 30‑30, with everyone holding their breath and sweating like they just ran a 40-yard dash.
Then, Bo Nix, playing like a man possessed — I’m talking 279 yards, 3 touchdowns, making defenses look like they were trying to catch shadows — led the Broncos on a clutch OT drive. And just when everyone thought “maybe the Bills will pull it out,” Denver wins on a game‑winning field goal. Boom. Just like that, Bills are home packing, and Josh Allen’s dreams of a deep playoff run vanish again.
Just when you’re thinking this is a fairytale ending for Denver — nope. Bo Nix breaks his ankle. In overtime. Yes, the same guy carrying Denver on his back just collapses like a popped balloon. He’s done for the playoffs, maybe the season. And here I am, missing the whole thing because of my dead data. Perfect.

Sean Payton’s reaction? Classic. I’m paraphrasing here, but basically:
“He’s tough. He knows God’s got a plan. We’ll rally. But damn… that hurts.”
Payton tried to sound like the calm veteran coach, but you could feel the heartbreak from the press box to my steak.
And poor Nix? The guy just shook his head, probably muttering something like:
“Sucks, man. Really sucks. But I gave it everything.”
Which is basically the NFL in one sentence: heartbreak, grit, and the cruel twist of fate.
And then there’s Josh Allen. The guy throws for 283 yards, 3 TDs, runs for 66, literally does everything but put the ball in the end zone when it counts — and loses again. Classic Josh Allen playoff heartbreak. You watch him leave the field like someone just told him his dog ran away, his season over, dreams crushed, and Bills fans immediately start chanting “Fire McDermott!”
Look, Allen’s been here before. You think this is new? No. This is like a season-long horror movie where he’s the lead, and the Bills just keep finding creative ways to disappoint.
And me? Let’s talk about me. I’m sitting in Gibbys, steak knife in one hand, phone in the other, fully invested… and my data dies. So I literally miss the OT field goal, the moment Nix gets injured, and all the chaos that followed. I didn’t see the magic, didn’t see the heartbreak. All I know is someone kicked it, Allen went home crying, and Nix might be done for the season. My life in Montreal will never recover.
I’m screaming at the waiter:
“Hey buddy! Can I get a steak AND the moment Bo Nix broke his ankle? I missed it!”
He just nods. He doesn’t get paid enough to fix my Wi-Fi.
- Broncos move on to the AFC Championship Game, but without Nix. Good luck, Jarrett Stidham. You’re basically handed a treasure map and told not to screw it up.
- Whoever wins Texans vs Patriots? Yeah, they’re the real favorites now. Denver just lost their hero, Buffalo is packing, and the AFC crown is up for grabs.
- McDermott on the hot seat? Let’s be honest, Bills fans are already sharpening the knives. Another playoff collapse, another year of heartbreak, another round of “next year is our year.”

This game had EVERYTHING: comeback, OT, turnovers, heartbreak, injury, drama, and enough chaos to make you question why we love football. Broncos fans are celebrating like it’s Christmas. Bills fans are crying into their wings and beer. And me? I’m sitting in Montreal, steak in hand, data dead, trying to figure out what the hell just happened.
But that’s the NFL, baby. You laugh, you cry, you watch your QB break his ankle, and somehow you still want more.

This is an art and a medium that I’m passionate about and one that I feel can never be replaced.
What makes my story so unique goes beyond my 10+ years of experience in sports media. In addition to over ten years of creating and hosting sports talk radio shows, I created the World Wide Sports Radio Network - one of the first ever digital sports radio networks - in 2012. Since the network began, we have had some of the best content in digital sports media. We have six quality shows on our network covering all sports and sports betting.
