WORLD WIDE SPORTS RADIO NETWORK

Worldwide Sports Radio Network, formerly Sportsonthego1; began in 2015 when Founder & President Errol Marks decided to take his passion for sports to new heights; finally giving Long Island sports fans a voice. As long island’s only sports talk radio network; the Errol Marks and Mikey C show quickly established a name in digital radio and a local and international fan base. The show was started in a basement apartment and grew from a team of 2 to 4 radio hosts. In 2017 the network transitioned to a state of the art studio in Bohemia Long Island. The network currently consists of 9 live daily sports talk shows and continues to grow. You can tune in to hear everything from baseball, football, hockey, basketball, soccer, golf, horse racing and MMA.

The network has had the opportunity to interview sports legends including Joe Buck, Barry Melrose, Manish Mehta, Kyle Okposo, Mike Richter, Chris Carlin, Marc Malusis, Kevin Knox, John Vanbiesbrouck & Avery Williamson just to name a few. Whether joining a debate on social media, casting a vote or simply calling in and joining the conversation, the network encourages listeners to get involved. In the past year the company has partnered with sponsors and have hosted live shows throughout the community and venues including Fox Woods Resorts and Mohegan Sun.

WWSRN has also collaborated with the Connecticut School of Broadcasting starting an internship program. Our interns have secured jobs with teams and broadcasting companies including the Minnesota Twins, SB Nation, CBS Sports Radio and Sirius XM Radio. We have had the privilege to attend and report live from the 2018 Belmont Stakes, US Open, NHL, NBA draft and the Heisman Trophy Award Induction. The network continues to build a strong presence in the sports community. In the past three years the network has been Cultivated relationships with sponsors, Community events and live shows Sponsorships.

I’m from a small town in Long Island. Growing up I was a very competitive and very into sports. I followed teams like the Yankees, Jets, Knicks and the Islanders. I always had a love for sports and my whole life I had dreams to become a professional athlete. This was however short lived due to a knee injury. After many years of trying to figure out of what I wanted to do with my career, I found my true passion for radio. After college, I took part in a mentoringship at CBS Sports Radio where I also had the opportunity to help produce with my mentor Dan Schwartzman host of “Going Deep” on NBC Sports Radio.

sports. I’ve been chasing this dream ever since. Working behind the
scenes at both CBS Sports Radio and SiriusXM have prepared me for an
opportunity like this to live out my dream and have people listen to
what I have to say.

Garret Fassett

I’m from a small farm town just outside Cooperstown, New York. From the moment I was young I knew I wanted to be around sports for the rest of my life, so I am now pursuing my Sport Management degree at the University of New Haven while also playing rugby. Along with my degree I am also pursuing an Analytics minor as I love to look at every level of sports through different views and numbers are a great way to do that.

My name is Kyle Spector. I am a senior at the University at Albany. I am studying Sociology with a minor in business. I am a Tampa Bay Lightning, New York Rangers, and New York Jets fan. My favorite athlete is Steven Stamkos. I am a huge baseball fan and I love the draft and prospects. I enjoy playing fantasy sports and talking with anyone about sports.

GEORGE WHITBREAD

George Whitbread may have Cerebral Palsy, but he does not let it slow him down in achieving his goals. George is a St. John’s University student studying journalism as an aspiring sports broadcaster. The Oceanside New York native began chasing his broadcasting dream back in high school when he did play-by-play and public address announcing for his school’s football and boy’s and girl’s lacrosse teams. At St. John’s, George is an active member in the school’s radio station, WSJU. With WSJU, George has two sports radio shows and frequently does play-by-play or color commentary for St. John’s men’s and women’s basketball and baseball.

George has been working for the New York Mets since 2016 as a member of the promotions staff. Last summer, George increased his role in the Mets organization when he took on a second job as a tour guide. It is George’s true love for the Mets and baseball that makes him love what he does. George also is an avid football and hockey fan, where he cheers for the Giants and Rangers. It is George’s dream to one day end up in a broadcast booth, but the Mets, Giants, or Rangers booth would be an extra special place to call home.

Anthony Cavarretta

My Name is Anthony Cavarretta, I have been an intern at the World Wide Sports Radio Network since April of 2020. I have a love of hockey, baseball, football and pro wrestling. I have been working in sports radio for the last 3 years as the voice of several sports for the Long Island University Sharks division one sports program. As well as having my own radio show Post 2 Post that talks about all the news from around the NHL that is available on Spotify and on 88.1FM WCWP on Long Island. Lets Go Rangers!

Hey everyone, a bit about myself, my name is Chris Sweeney I am 18 years old and I am a current concluding freshman entering my sophomore year at Fairleigh Dickinson University of Madison, NJ. I am a sports administration major as well as a diehard football fan, specifically a passionate New York Jets supporter. I was raised a fan by my father Rocky who passed away in 2014, my goal in life is to work for the organization and work my way up through the world of Jet football. I have my heart set on front office work for the Jets organization however, I would also like to work in areas if all else fails such as player personnel or the media sections and covering broadcasts and recaps of the games throughout the year.

As The son of Washington Nationals Radio Play by Play Announcer Charlie Slowes, Alex Slowes Brings energy and passion to the table in just about anything he does. Alex Slowes and his passion for Wrestling started in 2012. From there onward he mastered everything there is to know about the Sports Entertainment World.

Alex Slowes Currently is studying Broadcasting Communications at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, Florida where he got his official start running a single podcast called the Slowes Wrestling Show on HCCs HawkRadio.This Show helped inform and update Wrestling Fans on current events in the Sports Entertainment Business.

Alex started doing Commentary and Backstage work with a local Florida promotion in 2018 called Tampa Bay Pro Wrestling where he would get his official start and introduction into the behind the scene and on-air work.

He later on would Start with ACW American Combat Wrestling in New Port Richey, Florida Working with the likes of Culture Inc., The Rapture, The Midnight Tribe, The Tru Champion Andres Reyes and so many more in the Florida Indie Scene that earned himself the reputation as a hardworking, caring, and Passionate human being.

When it comes to Wrestling, Alex Slowes strives to keep people Entertained and up to speed on everything that is Sports Entertainment.

I’m an Aussie who has lived many years in the USA but am now based back in my home of Sydney. Over the years I’ve filmed, interveiwed and profiled many famous celebrities (manily sports celebrities) both here and in the USA. Some of the sports celebrities I’ve profiled one on one in their various envireonments are Dennis Rodman, Jamie Foxx, Samuel L and many many NFL, NBA and NRL players.

Josh Silverberg

My name is Josh Silverberg, and I’ve grown up on Long Island my entire life. I have so many passions in my life. Being a Physical Education teacher is one, but radio is another. I have always dreamed of being back on the air since my days at college, and it feels amazing to be doing it again.

I am a massive Mets, Jets, and Rangers fan, as well as a college sport fanatic. You can ask my wife, Melissa, I am obsessed. Another part of me is I’ve been a wrestling fan my whole life. I lived through the “Monday Night Wars” of WWE and WCW. Being able to talk sports and wrestling is one of my favorite hobbies.

When it comes to working in the media, I also interned one summer at the New York Post, and did college radio when I was away at school in upstate New York. Again, I switched to teaching, but radio is still in my blood and love it. I can’t wait to get started with the “World Wide Sports Radio Network.”

Carl “The Chosen One” Coulanges

As the Co-Founder and Executive Producer of The Sports Hit List, I oversee all day to day operations of the program which include developing segments, recruiting contributors, directing social media initiatives, and producing shows. In addition, I am the Lead Host and Lead Video Editor of The Sports Hit List. I am a very passionate Boston Celtics and WWE fan.
I am a Professor at Suffolk County Community College located in Selden, NY. I teach Television Video Production, Electronic Field Production, Issues in Broadcasting, Intro to Broadcasting, and Remote Van Television Production.

I graduated with a B.A. in Communication Arts: Concentration Film and Broadcasting from St. Francis College in 2008, an M.A. in Communication Arts: Concentration Film, Television and Broadband Production in 2010, and I am currently enrolled at Iona College to complete my second Masters in Sports Communications.

I would like to thank my Co-Founders Daron Ziggy Cummings and Chris Castellanos for beginning The Sports Hit List journey with me in 2008. I would also like to thank the entire Sports Hit List team for their countless efforts and dedication. Without my team, there would be no Hit List.

Daron “Ziggy” Cummings

I am a Co-Founder and Associate Producer of The Sports Hit List. My responsibilities include assisting the EP in building segments, specifically for the basketball genre. On occasion, I will debate basketball with other associates and provide behind the scenes camera footage related to various sports. One step away from being a New York Knicks fan to solely rooting for Kawhi Leonard.

Debora Voltaire Coulanges

I am the Creative Director for Sports Hit List. I am in charge of rebranding and set design. I work directly with Carl and his team to develop, lead and oversee social creativity. I also assist Carl with new ways of thinking. I am able to bring award-winning ideas to life and develop a more efficient, streamlined process across multiple departments within the organization. I am also responsible for having the brand become creative across the social and digital platform. Working with The Sports Hit List has helped me developed and adopt new strategies and tactics by creating my own content for my beauty page. Feel free to check me out.

Anthony “Magic” Mullen

As the Social Media Ambassador of The Sports Hit List, I help manage our social media content, especially our Facebook group . Also, I assist with the promotion of the show and it’s outreach by using all our social media platforms. I assist the creative team in developing content such as vlogs, in studio shows, and my own segment called “Proper Perspective.” As the Lakers Nation Brooklyn Division President ,I MUST make sure business about my team are put in Proper Perspective, as well as other series of topics.

Greg “The Baseball Guy” Polius

I recruited and played two years for Division 1 Hofstra University in Long Island Following playing for the Pride, I pitched and played Center Field for CUNY Baruch College where I was named to two ALL-CUNY selection, Regional All-American, and selected to the 2008 CUNY Goodwill tour of Italy.

My first and only professional contract was with the Continent Baseball League. After my playing career was cut short, I began coaching.

With 5 years of coaching experience for organizations around NYC, I ventured out on my own and NYC Thunder Travel baseball program was born. I am the Founder and Head Coach of an organization that coaches young High School players to tournament victories and also recruitment to collegiate teams. I have also lead teams to multiple semi-final appearances in national tournament play as a player/manager.

The experience I have garnered throughout my baseball career helps gives The Sports Hit List a birds-eye view from a player’s perspective.

While Greg I am the “baseball guy”, I am well versed in other sports and will help create content for football, basketball, and social issues in sports.

Erik Coleman

Erik Coleman is a former NFL standout, active philanthropist and sought-after sports analyst who uses his on-field experience, extensive knowledge of sports and robust personality to bring new and exciting insight to fans young and old.

After a stellar collegiate career as the captain of the Washington State football team, Coleman was drafted in the fifth round by the New York Jets in 2004. Coleman played nine consecutive seasons in the NFL with the New York Jets, Atlanta Falcons and the Detroit Lions. Recognized for his unwavering work ethic and passion for the game, Coleman became the first New York Jets player ever to earn the NFL Rookie Defensive Player of the Month Award since the honor’s inception in 1996 and finished his rookie season as the NFL’s highest grossing member of its performance-pay program, the league’s plan for rewarding low-salary players who outperform their contracts. During his NFL tenure, Coleman’s highlights include 653 combined career tackles and assists, 11 interceptions, 4 forced fumbles and 37 passes defended and he also served as the player-elected NFL Players Association Team Representative five out of his nine years in the league.

Since his retirement in 2013, Coleman has become a TV analyst for SNY’s “Jets Post Game Live!”, “Jets Extra Point”, “Jets Nation” and SNY’s Jets Draft show. He is the current host SiriusXm’s NFL Radio show “Sunday Kickoff”, ESPN NY’s “Inside the Jets” and CBS NY’s “Jets Late Night.” He also frequently appears as a sports commentator on numerous sports shows and network programs such as Hannity on Fox, Closing Bell with Liz Claman on Fox Business, ABC, PIX 11, CBS, ESPN Radio and WFAN, to name a few. In addition to his on-camera career, Coleman hit the airwaves as an analyst for the Stony Brook University football radio broadcast team in 2015 and most recently, Sirius XM.

Coleman is currently pursuing his passion for helping individuals and families, struggling with addiction at Guardian Recovery Network. Coleman is an active philanthropist who supports a number of causes close to his heart which includes, sickle cell anemia, pediatric cancer and traumatic brain injury and is a mentor for My Brother’s Keeper Mentorship Program. Moreover, Coleman is the proud recipient of Manhattan Youth Baseball Excellence in Sports & Philanthropy Award. When Coleman is not working or giving back to the community, he enjoys spending time with his wife Sabrina and their three beautiful children.

Stefen Rosner

Stefen Rosner, 22, is an alumni of the State University of New York at Cortland, graduating with a B.S. in Sport Management and a minor in Communications. Early on Stefen knew his passion was in sports, playing four sports in high school and going on to play hockey in college. He has made stops at NHL Network, the Binghamton Devils (AHL), New York Tennis Magazine, and is currently a certified hockey scout with Top Prospects Hockey. Stefen is thrilled to be joining the World Wide Sports Radio Network team.

Brendan Azoff

Brendan Azoff, 22, is also alumni of SUNY Cortland, graduating in 2020 with a BS in Sport Management and a Minor in Communications. He played baseball and hockey until the age of 18, the latter of which he continued to play at college. He was the Game Night Media Intern for the Binghamton Devils before the COVID-19 outbreak and currently contributes articles to The Hockey Writers and Fansided. Brendan has always been interested in sports media, particularly journalism and podcasting, leading to the creation of the BS Sports Show with Stefen. He is excited to join the Worldwide Sports Radio Network and hopes to give you all content you will thoroughly enjoy.

Brian Snow

Hailing from Chicago, Brian Snow is no stranger to big time sports. He began his career in 1995 at Chicago State University as their basketball team’s play-by-play announcer. Also, he was there as the radio station’s sports director and also a show host until 2009.

In 2013, off of a dare from a friend, and after much trial and error, Snowman in the morning was launched. Snowman in the Morning has morphed into a 120 minute speed ride through the sports world with stops of life mixed in. There are great guests, great discussions and conversations, and a whole lot of fun and surprises. It’s the show with the hottest of hot takes and the coldest of cold hard facts.
